Eldorado, Ark., Nov. 29.—Shim
Shanters, alleged owner of an unde
sirable resort, was killed and several
of the lawless element tarred and
feathered by a large number of men
and were driven out of the Smack
over oil field section in a series of
raids last night and today.
The raids were made by a commit
tee of two hundred “vigilantes” from
various towns of Ouchita county.

hooded ‘’vigilantes’’ and oil field
workers and gamblers.
