TODAY’S BLUNDER
CORRECTED
The word “City” should not be used
as a Part of the address on a letter j
or package. It docs uot take much j
longer to write out the name of the !
citv, with the state, and it may save
annoying delay. Letters Which are
sealed with a B ponge and those upon
which the stflnps are dampened with
a sponge frequently stick together
and if a letter addressed ‘‘City’’ sticks
to a letter addressed to another city
and should be misthrown to that city,
it is a matter of chance whether or
uot it will be delivered; and if it js
delivered there i g sure to be a delay
Traveling men sometimes fall into
the habit of Using tti e word “City’’
as a part of the address, forgetful
of the fact that, whoa the letter Is
mailed riot to be in the city In which
they reside, and therefore delay and
Perhaps ilfln-deUvery is the result,
the designation horth, south, east br
west before the hadie of the street
should always be used to avoid delay,
when it is required as a part of the
address.
