FAST HERCULES
AN EASY WINNER
OVER CAMDENITES
ONE-SIDED AFFAIR AND THE
SCORE WAS FOURTEEN
TO FIVE
The fast team of the Hercules
Powder company won a decisive vie
tory from the team from Camden
county yesterday afternoon. This
game was slow on account of wet
grounds and halls. The feature of
the game was the hatting of Hodges
Gardner and Peach for Hercules. The
game was slow in getting started for
the reason that the Hercules team
did not expect the visitors to make
their appearance on account of the
rain, and did not therefore make any
preparation for the game until the
visitors arrived on the field.

ARCO TOMORROW
WILL BE FIRST TIME THESE
CLUBS HAVE MET ON .
DIAMOND
The baseball club of the Brunswick
Riflemen will play the Arco aggre
gation at Norwich street park tomor¬
row afternoon and those who have
■seen members of both clubs in action
say that the event will be one of the
close and exciting kind.
The Riflemen have played only one
game this season and that was with
Benedictine of Savannah, and the
locals won by a score of 8 to 5. The
Arco bunch, it is stated, carries some
mighty swift players and there is no
doubt but fans will be satisfied. The
game will be called promptly at 3;20
and a large attendance is expected.
NINE DEAD MEN WON FROM
SWAMP ANGELS YESTERDAY
In another warm baseball game
yesterday afternoon the “Nine Dead
Men” won from the "Swamp ’Angels”
by a score of 9 to 6- This is the
second of a series of three
between these hustling clubs and
each has won a game. The third will
be played this afternon and the win¬
ner will be champions.

SAVANNAH PAPER SAYS CHAL¬
LENGE HAS BEEN SENT TO
MANAGER MITCHELL
Following is from the Savannah
Press of yesterday: “Attempts are
being made by the Benedictine Col¬
lege athletic officials to secure a game
this Saturday with Brunswick on the
latter’s diamond.
Father Raphael this morning wired
to the team manager of the Bruns¬
wick Riflemen and is expecting a.
reply momentarily.
The Brunswick team is the only
organization that has yet defeated
the B. C. boys this season. For this
reason the Savannah boys, confident
that they can win from the gunners,
are anxious to secure a return en
gagment.
It is not considered likely that the
Brunswick team will be brought here
this Saturday, even though they ac¬
cepted the challenge of the B. C. team
because of the fact that other games
are scheduled here, and the diamonds
will he occupied. Hence, the arrange¬
ment are to play the game in Bruns¬
wick if the challenge is accepted.”
Manager Mitchell will not accept
the challenge above referred to for
Saturday as a game has already been
arranged with Arco but it is likely
that a game with Benedictine will be
pulled off in the near future.
