I AND ME
j If I should meet with me,
Upon life’s broad highway,
Should meet as strangers meet,
l wonder what I’d say;
Would all the faults in Me
Loom large to Stranger I,
Which I in others see,
And trenchantly decry
And would the eyes of Me
Be swift to see the truth,
! The flaws in Stranger 1,
Discerned by all, forsooth,
And would the tongue of Mc
That often vilifies—
! The acts of Stranger I
Be sharp to criticize V
God grant that Stranger 1,
And Stranger Me be keen,
Tii see in every one
What in ourselves is seen
; By each—-the good alone—
Aiukmay sweet Charity
| Walk clone on life’s highway
With Stranger I anti Me.
