SCOTTISH RITE
PRESENT B.M. ROYAL
MASONIC RING
SECRETARY OF ROUND TABLE
SURPRISED BY HIS FEL¬
LOW MEMBERS
Members of the Ancient and Ac¬
cepted Scottish Rite Freemasonry
during their meeting last evening
honored their secretary, B. M. Royal,
by presenting him with' a thirty-sec¬
ond degree ring, in token of their apT
predation of his efforts in, securing
the reunion which was held last week
in this city.
W. S. Nathan made the presenta¬
tion on behalf of the Round Table as¬
sembled, being a complete surprise to
the recipient, and with it conveyed
each member’s devotion for his la¬
bors.
*The Round Table held a very inter¬
esting meeting last evening at the
Masonic Temple. One of the pleasant
features of the assemblage was to re¬
ceive twenty-five new members into
the organization. These candidates
received their degrees last week dur¬
ing the reunion, which was held un¬
der the auspices of the Alpha Lodge
of Perfection, of Savannah, Ga.
This organization has grown rap¬
idly in this city and plans were dis¬
cussed relative to establishming a
lodge here for the purpose of con¬
ferring up to and including the four¬
teenth degree, in the near future.
Many interesting talks were made I
during the ceremonies by the new i
members present. It is customary;
after each reunion to elect officers for
the ensuing .term, and the following
were elected to serve: W. L. Harwell,
president; W. F. Guyer, vice presi¬
dent; W. S. Nathan, director of work;
M. H. Baumgartner, assistant direct
tor of work; J. W. Collins, almoner;
F. N. Knight, chaplain; Louis Silber
stein, treasurer; B. M. Royal, secre¬
tary.
The retiring officers were the re¬
cipients of many congratulations for
their untiring efforts for the past
term, receiving the undivided credit
for the reunion held here last Wed¬
nesday, which marked one of the
greatest events in the history of Ma¬
sonry in this city.
WELL TO CONSIDER
Another distinct advantage in life
insurance, at one’s death is its im¬
mediate accessibility. There are “no
waits, no stops, no delays;” no will
to be probated; no will to be contest
ed; no creditors to present claims for
allowances, no privations to be en¬
dured by the widow and children
while awaiting distribution. The ben¬
efits which accrue upon the death of
the insured are direct and immediate.
This should be a convincing argument
to your own mind, of the great im¬
portance of increasing your estate
through <the life insurance channel.
