A POEM,
A failure I regret very much to make,
But I think you all have made a
mistake.
Now writing a poem is quite a task,
And I can’t see why you would ask
A wee little fellow with so short a mind
To produce a work of the rhyming
kind;
But as you’ve ask its best to try,
Since effort is good to push us by;
You know the fact that work and will
Will lead us a mighty hill;
Yon didn’t say what theme should be,
Then, guess that pleasure just left
me;
I'm s&e^this writing wont interest you
Forl& e thoughts are scattering and
n
A numwrr of teachers gathered here
In dear old Georgia, a land so dear,
In Alamo, the county seat
Os Wheeler county, we chance to
meet
We often meet and talk and quiz
To find out what the method is;
Os smoothing down the briers and
thorns,
Which thick and fast our paths adorn
Some school days we get so vexed
It isn’t desirous to try the next,
But rather than quit and up the ghost
We try again the naughty host;
Perhaps that day is another kind,
The children are nice and good to
mind,
And oh, how nice such days to seo
Just fills a teacher’s heart with giro
But sad to say, such days appear.
So very few within a year;
If a list were made of what we contend
A score of pages would’nt make an
end.
HI.
Then just here let's drop a hint.
Too many fathers are just content
With letting the child just have his way
And he at will day after day;
Home go to school if they may choose
And if not golden hours they lose,
Just run about and miss the school;
Too good to meet a teachers rule;
Others find their paths barred
Because their lessons are a little bit
hard;
They’ll come a week, and maybe two;
Then some pleasure they must see,
Just miss a week, but that’s a shame.
While on theteaeher is laid the blame
If the child does’nt know as though he
ought,
Os course the school was just half
taught.

To the Property Owners
If you have some property for sale
at a reasonable price, I will be glad to
look it over. It is a fact that some
people have an idea that a Real Estat,
agent can get bigger prices than they
can themselves. The fact ie that the
real live wire Real Estate man usually
has a good list of buyers end he is
much more able to find the right man
for your trade than you are.
I have entered into an agreement
with a corporation, whereby I will
have the names of buyers from aV
over the United States as well as ir.
Georgia; ao if you really have land to
sell at reasonale prices, list it with me
and I will get you a quick trade.
Also, if you want to buy, let me
hear from you, as I have some rea*
bargains. Yours for business,
ad. W. T. JACOBS.
