Pension Money Ready
The pension money is ready
for the old soldiers. Judge Kent
received a check for $2740 00
Thursday morning from the
State Treasurer through Judge
Lindsey, Pension Commissioner.
Judge Lindsey wrote that only
the Old Pensioners would be
paid now and that the new Pen
sioners would be paid just as
soon as the General Assembly
passed a bill appropriating the
money for the necessary amount.
All the Old Soldiers will get the
full amount due them as the Or
dinary of Wheeler does not
charge them one cent for his
service. He went to Atlanta and
paid his own Way in order to
hurry up the payment of the old
Soldiers in Wheeler Some of
the old Soldiers who live in
Wheeler were left off of the roll
for this county this year by an
oversight of the Ordinaries in
other counties, but thej’ will get
their money just the same.
Next year they will be trans
ferrad and get their money from
Wheeler, which will help them
as they will not have to pay any
fees on account of the fact that
the Ordinary of Wheeler charges
no old Soldier for his service.

Vidalia Thursday.
