spent several days of this week

Mr. Charlie Mcßae, after

The millinery’ openings dur'ng
the week have claimed the at
tention of the ladies. Perhaps
the first formal millinery open
ings held in this town and only
marks another step towards a
progressive town. Mrs. W. G
Hartly had her opening on Mon
day and Tuesday of this week,
which proved very successful,
and Mrs. H. W. Stuckey had her
openingto begin on Tuesday and
run through three days, Tues
day, Wednesday and Thursday

ried by them and the enterprise
is to be appreciated by the
people of this community.

I Epworth league Rally
At Spring Hill.
On Sunday, March ^9th, there
i will be an Epworth rally for
the Alamo church. I wish a
good delegation of young people
from every church, whether you
have a League or not. The be

for spread at noon. The towns
and Spring Hill Leagues will
have charge of the demonstra
tion work, and Rev. A. W. Rees,
president of Spark’s Collegiate
Institute, will preach at eleven
o’clock a. m., President Branch
of the South Georgia College,
will speak at three o’clock in the
afternoon.

Mr. J. F. Sikes returned this
week from an extended trip
through Alabama and Missis
sippi. While in Mississippi he
visited his son, Mr. J. C. Sikes
at Meridian and also visited his
son, Mr. B. A. Sikes at York,
Alabama. On his return he
stopped over with Mr and Mrs.
T. J. Siegler in Americus. He
had a very pleasant trip.

Register By April 7th
To Vole In General Election.
The General Assembly of
Georgia passed an Act in 1913
providing for the permanent
registration of voters. This said
Act was approved by the Gov
ernor on August 19, 1913. The
Act provides that when you are
once registered you are always
registered, provided you keep
your taxes paid. The Act pro
vides for registration at least
six months before the general
election. The general election
this year will be on October 7th,
1914, and in order to vote in the
general election all persons will
have to register on or before the
7th of April, 1914. Let every
one interested in voting this year
in the general election be certain
to register on or before April 7th,
1914. Os course the primary,
election will be held under such
rulesand regulations as are pro
vided by the Executive Commit
tee of this county in the lightof
the law governing primary elec

Mrs. Stuckey Has Big
Millinery Opening.
The Millinery opening of Mrs. H.
W. Stuckey opened with a rush Tues
day morning. She has on d’splay a
nice line of spring millinery, and the
ladies of thia community appreciated
this fact, judging from the interest
manifested on the opening day.
Three days taken for the opening,
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Cake and tea was served each after
noon, and was a very enjoyable feature
of the opening. She invites the pub
lic to call and look over her line, and
will appreciate the patronage. Neat
and cozy quarters have been fitted up
over the new post office, whieh makes
a very attractive millinery store. —ad
