Mr. Clements Withdraws
From Representative Race'
A letter from Mr. Andy W.
Clements, dated on the sth of
April to this paper, authorizes
us to discontinue his card, as he
has quit the race for Represen
tative of Wheeler county. Mr.
Clements gives no other reason
for his direction in the matter,
and we comply with his request.
Mr. Clements is one of the
strongest men in the county,
and should he have remained in
the race, would have polled a
strong vote,
This leaves only three candi
dates in the field now, Messrs.
Jerry Johnson, J. D. Brown and
Dr. M. Morrison. We have not
heard of any more probable en
tries, and it now looks that the
race will be fought to the finish
by those three aspirants

Moonlight Picnic
On last Friday night some of
ihe young people of Alamo went
down to Kent Spring for a Moon
light picnic. It is a beautiful
place for a picnic, it has beauti
ful shade trees, swings, seats
and above all, it has good water..
Toe very place to go when yod
are tired and thirsty.
About nine o’clock the table
was fixed and the luncheon
-spread, everybody enjoying it to
the fullest extent, after every
one was through eating and the
table was cleared, Coca Cola and
Hokey Pokey was served
Several interesting games
were played, after which every
one left for home, wishing that
this would happen at least once
a week instead of about once a
year.
County Faces Stock
Law Election
Elsewhere in this issue we
publish the notice calling for an
election on the first Wednesday
in July, in which the question
will be submitted to the quali
fied voters of the county, of
“Fence” or “No Fence.’’ The
ordinary has been petitioned by
the required number of tax pay
ers of the county to call said
(election, hence the call. Theelec
■ tion will be held at the court
(ground in each Militia District
land under the same rules and
I regulations as provided for in
(other general elections
The time is fast approoching
| when this question will be set
tled within itself, as the timber
of the country is fast disappear
ing, and everyone will see the
great advantage of it. People
that have stock will then have
to make preparations for them,
and they will find that the reve
nue derived from them will be
more than when they are at lib*
erty over the entire community.

Bridge Over Alliyalor
Greek In Bad Condition
People having to cross the bridge
over Alligator creek ar« complaining
at its bud condition, and some action
should he taken ^immediately to have
i£ repaired. This partitcular bridge
was mentioned in the last grand jury
recommenbations, and no time should
be lost in having it repaired. Per
haps no bridge in the county is
traveled more than this one, and the
risk to she county is too great to be
neglected.
It was only a few years ago that a
team of mules fell through this bridge
and one of t hem was drowned, and v •
understand that the place that this
accident occured has never been re
paired. The safely of the traveling
public is endangered when bridges of
the county are allowed to go un
noticed. This bridge is one of the
main enterane.es to the town, and
should have attention.
I DON’T TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT
Read what Andrew Carnegie
Says About it
I
Jl There is no doubt but what real estate is the very
best investment for small savings. It is bound to grow
I into money’ More fortunes have been made from the
rise of real estate, than from all other sources combined
j To speculate in in stocks is risk, even dangerous, but
8 when you buy real estate you are buying an inheritance.
—ANDREW CARNEGIE.
’ Young man take Mr. Carnegie’s advice and profit by
5 it. We can help you do this. Buy your lot. decide what
kind of a house you want and we will tell you how mdch

Remember that we sell everything that goes into a
