Te My Friends:
Gentlemen: - I want to thank
you, one and all, for the sup
port given me in the last elec
tion. Although defeated, the
principles that I stand for have
been defended to the extent of
yonr support, and I trust they
may yet live to bear fruit, for
with principle left out, we can
never hope to accomplish any
thing worth while. I have some
। some friends who turned from
me honestly believing they did
I the right thing. 1 have no ill
I feeling toward them for it. I on-
Hy have to regret that my relig
i ion was gainsaid and sought to
be dragged iu the political filth
However, I can point with pride
to my religion and sav I would
that all men had such as it--the
kind that makes men live honest
pay their just debts and tell the
truth. Jerry Johnson.
