B. T. U. Rally Held
The B. T. U. Rally was held at
the Spring Hili Baptist Church
Thursday night, May 9.
A very interesting program
was given by the Spring Hill
B. Y. P. U.’s.
All of the churches in our
Union except Sardis was repre
sented. Alamo won the banner
again by having the greatest per
centage of its members present.
After the business meeting it
was decided that the next meet
ing would be held at Alamo June
7. We are hoping to have a rep
resentative from every church in
the county at our next meeting.

Negro Printer Is
Killed By Blast
From Shotgun
Caranza Dowdy, local negro em
ployed for the past seventeen ye
ars with the Telfair Enterprise
here, died about one o’clock Mon
day morning from the effects of
a shotgun wound suffered earlier
in the night.
As best could be ascertained it
was believed (hat Dowdy was ac
cidentally shot when he used a
gun to push open a door to his
home, the load entering his leg
and mutilating it. An artery was
, severed and he bled to death be
fore the flow of blood could be
stopped.
