business machines—and especial
ly computers—have made count
less contributions to progress in
business, science, and industry.
Now, at the American National
Exhibition in Moscow, a com
puter usually used for processing
complex business data is giving
large Russian audiences facts
about life in the U. S.
The computer is a five-ton IBM
RAMAC 305. For the Moscow
exhibition, RAMAC’s magnetic
disk “memory” was filled with
thousands of facts and figures
about the way we live. Russian
fairgoers can ask the giant elec
tronic encyclopedia” any of 4,000
different questions about every
aspect of American life. Topics
from which they can choose ques-
tions include education, land, history, economy and cu ture. The
machine produces the answers - printed m Russian - at the push of
a button.

Miss Sue Ellen Brewer, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Brewer
of Lumber City, bcame the bride
of Eugene Sammons in an im
pressive double ring ceremony on
Sunday, September 6, in the Lum
ber City Methodist Church. Rev.
J. L. Gunter of Alamo officiated
in the presence of a large number
of relatives and friends.
Hal Cowart, uncle of the bride, j
sang “At Dawning" and “Whither
Thou Goest” for the prenuptial
selections and the first verse of
“O Perfect Love" at the conclu-1
sion of the prayer. Mrs. Wm. B.
Hulette was his accompanist and
rendered organ music for the
wedding and reception.,
A silver urn holding a fan
shaped arrangement of white
Fugi mums and glads and mount
ed on a pedestal graced the pulpit. I
Southern smilax, magnolia and j
potted ferns completed the deco- i
rations.
The bride, given in marriage 1
by her father, was radiant in an |
original creation of slipper satin I
and Chantilly lace, floor-length, i
fashioned along princess lines’
with long sleeves ending in al
point over the hands. Her:
shoulder length veil of illusion fell i
from a tiara of seed pearls and |
crystal rhinestones. She carried i
a prayer book covered with j
with angel orchids and stephano-1
tis with a miniature blue bird ’
tucked inside for that “some-!
thing blue.” She had a silver j
six-pence which had been used by 1
fifteen other brides, in her shoe. J

lines as the bride’s. She wore
headband and shoes of the same
color with white gloves and car
ried a nosegay of white carnations
dressed in organza.
Mrs. Brewer chose beige lace
over taffeta with beige and brown
accessories for her daughter’s
wedding. Her corsage was a pur
ple-throated bronze orchid.
Lawton Sammons was his
brother’s best man and Larry
Brewer and Tommie Varnadoe
served as ushers.
Wedding Reception
After the wedding Mr. and Mrs.
Brewer entertained with a recep
tion in the Methodist recreation
hall. It was artistically decorated
in the same greenery as that used
in the church with wedding bells
added in appropriate places. The
cover for the bride’s table was
made of square medallions of
handmade lace and Philippine
embroidery over white satin. The
three-tiered cake was cut by Mrs.
Joey Webb. Mrs. Earl Rowland
presided over the punch bowl and
Faye Brewer, Elizabeth Hall. Car
olyn Thigpen and Annie Ruth
Moody assisted in serving. Silver
compotes held salted nuts and
mints’.
Mrs. Tommie Brewer greeted
the guests at the door and Mrs.
T. N. Haley presented them to the
receiving line. Linda Kay Bur
row kept the bride’s book.

making their home in Cartersville
for the present.

James Leon Purdee Jr.

ber 7. The baby’s mother was
formerly Miss Shirley Ricks of

Miss Judy Doreen Rose, daugh
ter of Mrs. Janet Rose of Bridge
port, Conn., became the bride
of Joel Samuel Kusnitz, son of
Mrs. Morris Kusnitz and the late
Dr. Morris Kusnitz of Alamo on
Tuesday, August 25 in the Rabbi’s
study of the Fitzgerald Hebrew
Congregation, Fitzgerald.
The ceremony was performed
by Rabbi Nathan Kohen.
The bride, given in marriage
by her mother, was attired in a
white chiffon dress with a satin
cummerbund. A crown held her
veil and she carried a Bible with
white orchids.
Mrs. Ralph Dabraccio of Bronx,
N. Y. was her attendant. She was
attired in gray print with match
ing accessories and carried carna
tions.
Leland W. Kusnitz was the
groom’s best man and ushers were
Arnold Kusnitz, Abe Kruger of
Fitzgerald and Herbert Sacket of
Ocilla.
On returning from a wedding
trip through the Eastern states,
