(To he ccncludtd in our next. J j * Wealth of Georgia.— A commu nication was made by the Govern or to the Legislature a few days since, in compliance with a resolu tion of the House of Representa tives, refpefting the amount of mo ney due this State by the General Government, for lands ceded to the latter by the former in** 1802, Os the original debt, which was one million two hundred and fifty thouiand dollars, it appears that three hundred anth thirty one thou sand four hundred f aad forty one dollars have been received in the purchase of arms and the payment of our quota of the Direst Tax— leaving a balance due Georgia at this time of more than nine hundred thousand dollars ! It is in contem plation, we believe, to vefl a large portion of this sum in a state Bank, which, if prudently managed, can’ scarcely fail to yield a considerable revenue*—enough probably to de fray the ordinary expences of gov ernment, the profit on the Bank- Stock at present held by the state being nearly equivalents the whole expenditure of its civil lift.
