Other Senate leaders who heard his statements chimed in. The jerky progress of tax and re lief bills has stalled again, with the result that they cannot be filed with the senate before today. Utah’s Senator King predicted that despite the snarl in the Senate Finance Com mittee, the tax bill will be reported today. Chairman Adams of the Senate Approprations Subcommittee hopes to get the relief bill into the hands of the full committee some time this afternoon. Certain Republican Senators have suggested that adjournment be delay ed until after the Republican National Convention. There are reports that some G. O. P. Senators will try to block action on taxes and relief until it is too late to adjourn for the con vention. PRAGUE PARLIAMENT ASKED FOR $400,000,000 AS BUDGET FOR WAR PRAGUE, May 27 (TP)—The Czechoslavakian government insisted before parliament today that $300,- 000,000 should be added to its war budget. The regular defense fund calls for $100,000,000 from the 13,- 000,000 in habitants of the land-lock ed nation. The heavy addition to the war fund would pay for new forts along the German, olish Austrian and Hungar ian frontiers.
