In fact the ballot in the election had blank spaces where the names of the candidates for mayor and four council posts should have been. But 50 of the residents wrote in the name of the incumbent, Col. Richard Farr, assistant United States Attorney general, who was appointed to the office several months ago when Mayor Thomas Chapman died. His nearest write-in opponent was Walter Oliver, Jr., who go only four votes. It was the fourth time residents of Fairfax have had to write in their choice because no candidates have filed for it. It seems that the mayor's office as well as those of the councilmen pay no salaries. Actor Frank Wallace claims to be Mae’s husband—but all he got from Supreme Court Justice Cotillo was approval of hs judgment. Wallace asked the court to grant a stipula tion admitting he was "Mr. West.” "So, you want to be declared Mae West's husband?” laughed the judge. "I admire you—but there’s nothing for me to do but dismiss the case.” Mae’s lawyers will seek an order today to strike the case off the court calendar. Railroad Schedules Schedule ae information. The publisher, Robert Edmondson, failed to appear for hearing yester day. His lawyer said no complaint had been served. Both sides agred to post pone the case until Friday.
