WALDO YOUNG —I would view
yesterdays highly selective strength
with suspicion and caution. I doubt
if such strength can be maintained
throughout two consecutive full days.
If it does go further than the morn
ing hours today, it will place the mar
ket in a position extremely vulnerable
to what the delegates, the platform
and finally the president will have to
say before the end of the week.
TOPlCS—Chrysler Corporation has
had a 10 point move in short order
and think it wise to protect trading
profits. National Supply, 10 points
up here in last 30 days and pretty
good. On some good dip to around,
or under 40, would then be in posi
tion to replace. Western Union, has
bulged along of late and we have
always continued bullish on it. West
inghouse Electric would be getting
out on this move. Not that we are
changing our bullish opinion, but we
note that the Street seems universal
ly bullish and talk the sky for most
stocks. New York Central, sold at
its best price in several months yes
terday and hardly a day has gone by
without our urging Its purchase.
Think trading profits can be accept
ed on further strength. Douglas Air
Craft, if trading would be hylined
to accept the profits on gny early
strength this morning. But for long
pull think fancy promts will lbe seen.
