FLORIDA FACES GENERAL STRIKE MIAMI, Fla., June 29 (TP)—Flor ida and other South Atlantic ports today face the threat that Monday will see the beginning of a general strike among dock workers. Possibilities of such a condition first became apparent several weeks ago. At that time, workers and op erators In Miami were deadlocked ! over demands of the international longshoreman’s union. A threatened i strike was suspended when negotia tions were opened through union headquarters in New York. However, no agreement has been reached. Frank Henderson. C, June 29 (TP) —Practically every child at Grandfather orphanage at Banners Elk has become a head hunter. The lure of a nickle has sent the young sters scurrying through the woods— m quest of snake heads. Five cents each is what county officials offer for the head of a rep tile. The snakes are not poisonous— but they’re a pain in the neck to fishermen. Authorities say the favo rite diet of the snakes is fish, fresh from the North Carolina streams. As a result there’s a dearth of perch and trout to take the snares of the wily wielders of the rod and reel.
