—A group of “Hardshelled Democrats
told friends today how they received
requests to contribute campaign funds
to the Republican National Finance
Committee.
Each of the Democrats received an
envelop? with a return address and a
request to send a dollar for a “cam
paign participation certificate.’’
The Democrats obediently placed
stamps on the envelopes and mailed
them back to Republican headquar
ters —empty.
POLISH SCOUTS VISIT
BOY TRAINING CENTER
MENDHAM, N. J., July 8 (TP)—
The national training center of the
American Boy Scout movement will
be visited today by 24 Polish scouts
who are in the United States for an
11-week good will tour.
The Polish boys and their scout
leaders will make an inspection tour
of the Mortimer L. Schiff scout re
servation at Mendham, where young
sters all over the country are trained
in scout work.
Tomorrow the young visitors from
overseas will go to Washington, where
they will be welcomed by representa
tives of the Polish embassy and var
ious government officials.
