NOTIICATION THURSDAY TOPEKA, Kan., July 21 (TP).— Governor Alf Landon closed his ap pointment book to all visitors today, and sat back to rest up for the strain of this week’s notification ceremonies. The governor said his talks with delegations from Ohio and Virginia would be the last until his nomina tion acceptance speech on Thursday. The former governor of Ohio, Myers Cooper, told Landon he may expect to carry the Buckeye state easily in the November elections. Said Cooper: ”My state is a pivotal state in this campaign, but it is not a doubtful state. It is going Republican this year.” Col. Henry Anderson, G. O. P. po litical leader of Virginita, admitted his state is still doubtful. "However,” said Anderson; “The people are tired of uncertainty and confusion. They want someone to take hold of this government and apply it to the ordi nary principles of common sense.” LACK OF RAIN MAY SEND MILK PRICES SOARING BALTIMORE, July 21 (TP)—Lack of rain may force milk prices in the Baltimore area up one cent a quart today. Members of the Maryland Dairy men’s Association said the lack of rain and intense sun had burned pastureland and forced up the price of feed. They said they probably would meet today to consider boost ing the price of milk one cent a quart to cover the additional feed costs. The price of milk in the city now is 12 cents a quart.
