DEATH OF MRS 0- M- GERALD
anotheb.evidence that death loves a
SHINING MARK.
On Saturday last, at 8 o’clock p. m.
after a protracted illness, Mrs. O. M.
Gerald succumbed to the will of the
Master and her spirit wended its way
to the other shore to spend eternity
with the redeemed. She was puri
tied through suffering and passed
from earth to the spirit world without
a murmur, with the consciousness
that all was well and that she would
be received into the New Jerusalem
with that welcome plaudit, well done,
good and faithful servant, enter thou
in. Weep not fur her, loved ones, re
member that it was best, and, too,
that she is infinitely bettor off.
She was young and happily mar
ried, surrounded with everything (hat
tends to make life enjoyable and was
perfectly devoted to her husband and
home, but disease, for some good pur
pose, fastened upon her vitals and
soon death claimed her as a victim.—
Our tenderest sympathies go out to
the bereaved in this hour of affliction.

greater protection he hud pulled the
old man around behind a box car thn)

The whistle commenced screaming
with all its shrillness, ami “the boy,

feet to the ground he thought of
course the engine bad in some way
knocked him down. Ho lit out by

Au inexplicable case of the whole
sale poisoning of a family is reported
from this comity. Mr. Josoph M.
Dunaway informs uh that one night
last week every member of his family,
eight in all, wiih suddenly taken sick
with violent choh ra morbus. They
were quite seriously sick for some
hours A physician was sent for but
some time necessarily elapsed before
he arrived. He relieved the acute
suffering ns soon as possible, but up
to yesterday, so Mr. Dunaway in
forms us, his family had not entirely
recovered from the poisoning, ft is
thought the trouble was caused by
the milk, as al) the family drunk Horne
of it, and that left in pans from Home
unaccountable cause, effervesced and
ran over. The cowh were fed on cot
ton when they came up and hud the
range of the woods. They have been
looked after very closely and the milk
