Rev. Smith M. Baker, of
Lowell, in u recent sermon
Mid:
• The first man was not develop
ed from it sea-weed or h monkey,
but wan made in the image of God.
Woman was ulao a creation from
man, that forever should realize
the openness ot their na* tires and
be bound together with a common
love and destiny. A perfect hu
man character is found only in
both. No ni mis a perfect image
of God ; no woman it, but each
upplemeuts the other. Both have
fallen, both are sinful. Man I*
not greater or better than woman,
or woman greater or latter than
man. They are equal but ditf'-rent.
Any attempt to destroy all distinc
tion save that of the sex, will for
ever fail. They were each made
to represent God,man to represent
God ; man to represent the eternal,
legal, kingly, and fatherly side;
woman to represent the equally ,
strong, firm but atfectionate, I<»V
ing, motherly, patient side. Man
represents strength ; woman repre
sents grace ; man, power; woman,
beauty, Christ and b »th. Man’s
strength does not imply ugl ness
or coarseness ; woman's beauty does
not imply weakness. In all the
finer instincts of the mind, in de
licate perception of the true and
beautiful iu nature mid in thought,
woman is the superior of man.—
Man's mind, as a rule, is stronger,
w man's liner. To oring foith tin
aggressive side in the image ol
Christ is man s sphere. To repre-1
rent his beauty of character i- j
woman’s. In the-e there is no
more conflict than in the mission ol
heat and light, or than in the two
halves of a hail of shears—they
complete each other. Man is to
glorify God by the building up of
u noble aggressive work ; woman's
is to glorify Goo and develop h r
own soul in the no les* p >sitive
work of reflecting the beauties of
grace. bitlucs. stifle: ing, pov

It's warm, of course, but ym.
make it seem warmer by worrying
over the heat. The best way t<

Sir—A desire to Ixmefit suffering 1m
: inanity is tny apology for sending you
this statement. For a long time 1
suffered with enlargement of the liver,
loss of appetite, nervousness, sleepless
ness, low of energy and difficult
breathing. I tried differ'nt physi
cians and lemediea without benefit. I
was induced to try H. II I’. (or Hill’s
Hepatic Panaceaj. Before finishing
one bottle 1 obtained relief. I con
tinued its use until 1 had taken twelve
Gottles, when I was made a well man,
since when 1 have felt better than for
'ears. I know of others who have
l>eeii cured of the won* forms of ma
i laria troubles by its use. One has but
to try it to.be relieved, cured and con
vinced. that is worth more than gold.
There is nothing disagreeable about
it, either to take or in its effects. Ise
this as you please. Yours truly, Ac,
