monthly meeting of the Farmers (,'lub.
Owing to the inclemency of the weath
er the attendance was small,therefore
the business of the meeting was de

An Oyster Supper.
On the night of the 23rd inst. our
Masonic friends will serve an excel
lent oyster supper in Harlem, for the j
benefit of the Lodge. They are mak
ing earnest efforts tq erect a new
hall—one that will be an ornament
to the place. Go and carry some one
with you, and you may rest assured
that the committee of arrangements
will not disappoint you. 1

known as Headstall. The office will

There is a stump in the road load
ing to Appling, within the incorpor
ate limits of Harlem, that should be
| dug up. It is liable to damage ave
. hide in passing over it, as it almost
directly in the track of the road. If
this statement is doubled, we stand
ready to convince the "doubting
. Thomas ’ by showing him the afore
said stump. Should it be allowed to
remain some one may break a wheel
in passing over it and call upon the
Town Council for damage, and they
ought to have it.
Robbed.
The depot nt Berzelia was burglar
ized on Wednesday night. The thief
took in about $lO in cash and
the same amount in postage stumps.
No clue to the perpetrator.

The trial of Tom Woolfolk ended
in Macon yesterday. The jury re
turned n verdict of guilty. The'
Judge sentenced him to be banged
on the tenth day of February next. —
