Let us have peace! We thought
when the Presidential and Guberna¬

might have some peace; but now
here comes a whole lot of good, nice
clever fellows—about four or five to
the office—who want us to vote for
them for either Ordinary, Treasurer

vote for all of you, neither can we
tell who will be elected. We only
know that the longest pole will knock
down the ’possum fruit.

for six months with Hectic Fever every

Twenty Dollars.
A gentleman in Conyers, Ga.,
offers the above sum as a reward to
any person who will, ou sight, read
the following without mispronounc¬
ing a w'ord: One morning I found
myself in a queer locale amid a vast
area of burning sands. To my relief
I descried an oasis, but alas! it turn¬
ed out to be a mirage. I could see,
as I thought, cascades, geysers, and
gewgaws indescribable. YVhen I
complained to an Edomite of such a
deceptive land, the untoward fellow
treated me with contumely. I was
only saved from the puissant blows
of ihe nuisance, by the timely ap¬
pearance of a chamois which leaped
up from the foot of a pyramidal cy¬
press, at which he fired his fusee.
This perverse creature was so mad¬
dened at my escape that he com
initted felo-de-se. He was the pro¬
tege of the king, and had been
some time bis employe in
cruciform inscriptions, and may
have been a Chaldean. Though
cleanly dressed, he was not cleanly.
Now seeking a recess by a stream
tilled with animalcules, I wrote an
exquisite essay, drawing upon in¬
fertile brain, which I read each alter¬
nate day for a week, and wrapped it
up and placed it in an alcove for
safe-keeping.— Enquirer-Sun.
A Drunken Lady.
The Atlanta Constitution of the
5th says: Yesterday evening about
5 o’clock a policeman’s attention was
called to a handsomely dressed lady
who was passing down Whitehall
street in an intoxicated condition.
Going up to her, the officer ascertain¬
ed that she was almost beyond nav¬
igation. Calling a hack, he, though
greatly against her will, put her in
it and started to the callaboose, but
on the way the woman begged so
hard to be taken home that the of¬
ficer consented and drove her to her
house, where she was taken in charge
by her family.
On her way home she expressed
great indignation at the treatment
she had received, and threatened to
sue the city. She said that she was
a banker’s wife in an adjoining city,
and that she would have redress for
the gross insult heaped upon her.
She denied being drunk, though she
said she had been drinking cham¬
pagne.
A gentleman who lives in Atlanta
and is acquainted with the lady says
that her story about being a banker’s
wife is true. He also says that her
family moves in the best circles of
society in the town from which she
caine to Atlanta, but adds that this
is not the first time she has been
taken home in an intoxicated condi¬
tion.
She was neatly and hansomoly at¬
tired in a beautiful silk and her
hands were loaded with rings. Her
conversation indicated that she was,
or had been, a lady of culture and
refinement.
Here’s a good lesson for the tem¬
perance people.
The three richest men in Georgia

Brewer’s Lung Restorer.
We would recommend to all who have
diseased Lungs and Throat this sterling
medicine. Numbers of Consumptives even
the last stage of litis terrible disease where
there was but a small portion of the lung
left, testify that they arrested the disease
by er's using only two or three bottles of Brew¬
pronounced Lung Restorer. Their physician
them incurable and left thcrii
to pine away and die, and death would
have soon been the result but fur a timely
use of this article. We are well aware
that we have a good deal to contend with
been in introducing this remedy, as there have
so many worthless nostrums sold here¬
tofore. hut we are so firmly convinced that
we have now the long looked for Cure,
that, we are ready to say to all who hav<
ibis disease, that we firmly and conscien¬
tiously believe if that no matter how far gout
they are, they will use the medicine-by
the directions tney will live long years af¬
terwards, living witnesses of the virtues oi
BREWER’S LUNG RESTORER.
It has no equal in Bronchitis, Sort
Throat, Hoarseness, Shortness of Breath,
influenza, Fain in Side, Clergyman’s Sore
Throat, Catarrh and other diseases of the
1’hroat and Lungs, in Asthma, it gives
almost instantaneous relief. It gives tone
to the whole system, and every bottle will
add from live to ten pounds to anyone’s
weight if taken regularly. An infant can
take it without the slightest injury, and we
would urge parents to give it in eases ol

where sueli a medicine is needed.
Unlike the greater portion of Cough me¬
