ANNOUNCEMENT
To the Voters of
Bryan County:
~ This is to tell you that I
have qualified as a candidat.
for Sheriff in the Speciai
Election set for March 7th
and to ask you for your vote
and support in this race.
I have more than 20 years
experience a3 Deputy Sheriff
of Bryan Céunty, 6 under Mr.
E. W. Miles and all of the
15 years that Sheriff Smith
held this office. 1 feel that
this experience better fits me
for the place than I woyld be
without this experience, Most
’of you know me and knov my
record as Deputy Sheriff, and
I promise you that if I am
honored by being elected as
your S}}eriff, I will give to the
office my best services at all
times, and will strive to make
Bryan County one of the best
law abiding counties in Geor
gia,
As most of you know I was
in charge of the work in the
20th District, and it was on a
highway with thousands of
travelers from all over the
vorld, but at all time I have
tried to be honest with them
and my people and feel that
I can truthfully say that my
district is one of the cleanest
and best districts in the State
of Georgia.
It is not going to be pos
sible for me to see each and
everyone of you personally,

UNEXPIRED TERM OF
SHERIFF KYLE D. SMITH
WHEREAS, a vacancy has
occurred in the office of the
Sheriff of Bryan County,
Georgia, caused by the death
of KYLE D. SMITH, who was
the Sheriff of said county.
NOW, THEREFORE, this is
to give notice that a specia’
election will be held on th
Tth day of March, 1968, to fil
said vacancy and all persons
desiring to be a candidate for
this office shall give notice to
the Ordinary of Bryan County,
Georgia, in writing on or be
fore the 20th day of February,
