TO THE CITIZENS
OF BRYAN COUNTY
This is to advise that I have
qualified as a candidate in the
September 11, Democratic Pri
mary to represent Bryan?
Candler, and Evans counties,
which make up District 62,
Georgia House of Representa

Presently I am representing
Candler and Evans counties in
the House or Representatives.

General Assembly, a bill was
passed rearranging several'
counties into new or expanded
House Districts in order to
meet population tolerances, to
comply with the United States
Supreme Court decision (on*
man ,one vote theory).
In my judgment the new
52nd House District is com
pact, and the people living
therein have many common in
terests.
It will be a high honor for
me to have the privilege of
representing you in the Geor
gia House of Representatives.
I seek your friendship; I
need your vote and support.
If elected to represent you,

Diabetes
Screening
Diabetes, which can’t yet
be cured, or even prevented,
can be controlled if it is diag
nosed early. A simple blood
test may indicate the begin
nings of the disease. Then it
may be checked with medi
cation taken orally, or, ‘in
some cases, by simply follow
ing a weight control program.
Although the disease con
tinues, the complications are
averted, and the patient can
live a normal life. But dia
betes undetected and untreat
ed can lead to serious condi
tions such as blindness, hyper
tension or even death.
Free screening tests for dia
betes will be available at the
Bryan County Health Depart
ment on Wednesday, July 10,
from 9 A M. until 4 P.M. For
the most accurate test pos
sible, people should come to
the health department TWO
HOURS AFTER EATING a
meal.

ATLANTA ' - (PRN)
Persons who willfully damage

On June 10 a total of 31

THE PAtTY
This is Peter Seller’s latest
spoof and it makes for good
entertainment, although not up
to "A Shot In The Dark” or
even "What’s New Pussy Cat?”
The opening scene is a good
one and Sellers manages to
come up with laughs throughout
the picture. Yet his acting in
this one is far from convincing.
It almost seems as if he is
accepting Hollywood standards,
as it were, for in some of his
humorous situations the acting
is less than Sellers is capable
of.
The story is a subtle slap
at American social customs and
so-called society. In fact, a
typical Hollywood party is the
scene for at least two-thirds of
the picture and anyone who
leaves the theater not a bit
revolted at the Americans
portrayed there is not thinking.
The little waiter who is
looped during most of the party,
at which he serves, rivals
Seilers for laughsand in a better
production, with better timing,
could have been more hilarious.
