day night, May 25, at
8:00 p.m. at the Pem
broke Fire Station Re
creation Hall for their
regular fourth Monday
night supper meeting
; with president-elect,
Randall Bazemore pre
siding over the meeting.
Following an invocation
the group enjoyed a sup
per prepared by mem
bers and planned by
Brenda Bazemore and
Jeanie Bacon.
Following the pledge
of allegiance to the
American Flag, the two
organizations held se
parate business meet
ings.
Jaycee business in
cluded detailed dis
cussion for outlining a
program of action for
the upcoming year, con
cerning projects, goals,
and budget require
ments.
Installation ceremon
ies for recently elected
officers are scheduled
for the June 22, with
plans being made for the
regional president to
conduct the ceremony.

Attend Meeting
Bryan County was
represented at the 1970
Georgia Jaycee State
Convention at Jekyll Is
land May 21-24 by seven
couples who are mem
bers of the Bryan County
Jaycee-Jaycette orga
nization.
Arriving atacthe con
vention on Thursday
were Mr. and Mrs. Ray
Harrison, Mr. and Mrs.
Randall Bazemore, Mr. —
and Mrs. Gene Cowart,
and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
Jordan. Joining the
Bryan delegation on
Friday were Mr. and
Mrs. Lewell Turner,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Neal and Mr. and Mrs.
Ed Bacon.
Following separately
scheduled activities
during the day, the
Jaycees and Jaycettes
enjoyed a joint Get ac
quainted Party Thurs
day evening at the ac
quarama with music
for dancing provided by
two bands, the “21st
Century” and “George
Doerner”.
Friday morning acti
vities for the Jaycees
began with a Local
Presidents Breakfast,
followed by Spoke, Spark
plug, and Speak Up
Contests. Incoming Of
ficers Orientation and
Rebel Corp Business
Meetings were held be
fore the Jaycee Awards
Lucheon at 12:00 noon,
which enveloped most
of the afternoon.
Bryan Jaycettes at
tended the general busi
ness meeting at Gould
Auditorium Friday mo
rning and the 1:00 Jay
cette Awards Luncheon
which lasted until late
afternoon. Joint func
tions Friday night in
cluded a Hawaiian Luau
at 7:00 p.m. featuring
a delicious buffet meal
followed by a Hawaiian
Floor Show. Music for
dancing late in the e-.
vening was provided by
the “Perils of Pacific”
and the “21st Century”.
Jaycees attended a
General Business Meet
ing at 9:30 a.m. Satur
day, followed by elec
tions of state officers
from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00
Past president Ray
Harrison volunteered to
serve as chairman of
the leadership training
programs Spoke, Spark
plug, R and R, and
Speak-up.
Jaycette business in
cluded the scheduling of
a rummage sale set for
Friday, June 5, from
4:00 to 6:30 p.m. On
sale will be men’s,
women’s, and children’s
clothing as well as some
books, housewhole ar
ticles, and jewelry, ac
cording to president
Montene Cowart.
The Jaycettes also
filled out application
forms for each member
to purchase an official
Georgia Jaycette Blouse.
The organization will
sponsor an Emblem
Contest for which mem
bers will submit designs
to be made into badges
for the local club mem
bers to wear on the
Jaycette blouses. Such
badges will designate
each wearer as a mem
ber of the Bryan County
Jaycettes as well as the
Georgia Jaycettes.
