THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION. The Official Cal! for the Meeting at St. Louis July 6th. Washington, .Tan. 18.—--The of¬ ficial call was issued today for the assembling of the Democrat¬ ic national convention at St. Louis on July 6th next. The call states that “each state is entitled to representation therein equal to double the number of-its sena¬ tors and representatives in con¬ gress, and each territory, Alas¬ ka, Indian Territory and the Dis¬ trict of Columbia, shall have six delegate's. All Democratic citi¬ zens of the United States who can unite in an effort for pure economy and constitutional gov¬ ernment are cordially invited to join in sending delegates to the convention. The Bainbridge Furniture Com¬ pany is the name of anew firm that will open its doors to th public next week. A few .weeks since we announced that Dr. L. D. Baggs and Mr. A. P. Spence, of Camilla, had formed a partner¬ ship and would open a furniture establishment early in January. Since then, in fact only this week Dr. Baggs bought out Mr. Spence’s interest in the business and will oe sole proprietor. Mr. Mercer Brggs will act as mana¬ ger and conduct the affairs ofj(t*he firm. With hL natural business ability added to his experience we have no doubt that Mr. Baggs will meet with unlimited success. The new firm has secured the corner store in the Shingler build¬ ing and has already moved in. Mr. Baggs has but recently re¬ turned from New York where he purchased an extensive stock of the newest and handsomest furn¬ iture.
