How to Have Beautiful Eyes.
First of all, you must make
i perfect your general state of
\ health. Nothing is a surer index*
j to bad livers than the eye.
I dulled, and the white becomes
yellow, under which conditions
no eye can be beautiful. Bath¬
ing the eyes in sea water or water
in which rock sea salt is dissolved
strengthens them. And another
important point is not to fatigue
them.
The eye does not recuperate so
readily as other parts of the
body, and every time those deli¬
cate muscles ache from fatigue
you mny consider you have done
them permanent injury. It is
not good to read while lying
down, and you should never read
by a flickering light. The light
should fall directly on the page,
but not so as to strike the eye in
passing, Some foolish people
like to show the strength of the
eyes by looking at.the sun. This
is exceedingly injurious. If the
eyes are tired it is comforting to
lay a cloth across them wet with
hot water.
Stimulate the muscles at the
corners of the eyes by placing
two fingers on each temple and
massaging with a rotary move¬
ment, Take plenty of sleep and
outdoor exercise.. If a foreign
s lbstance gets into the eye try to
let the tears flow and carry it
toward the nose This is the
point from which it is most easily
extricated. Never drop anything
into I he cj e to producean artificial
sparkle. You mav clip carefully
the tips of the eyelashes and rub
then, with vaseline at night if
you wish to promote their growth,’
and for the eyebrows, brush
them often and train them to
grow in a proper direction. To
prevent the lids from wrinkling a
B -th of boric water after the or¬
dinary morning ablutions is effec¬
tive. Boric acid ointment is very
healing vihen eyes are inflamed,
and it is better stdl to drop into
them a few drops of boric -water.
CAUTION!
This is not a gentle word—but- when
you think how liable yon are not to pur¬
chase the only remedy universally
known and a remedy that has had the
largest side of any medicine in the world
since 18fi8 for tile cure and treatment of
Consumption and Throat and Lung
troubles without losing its great popu¬
larity all these veaxs, you will ho thank¬
ful we called your attention to Bos
choe’s German Syrup. - There are so
many ordinary cough remedies made by
druggists and others that are cheap and
good for light colds perhaps, hut for se¬
vere coughs, bronchitis, croup—and es¬
pecially for consumption, where there is
difficult expectoration and coughing du¬
ring the nights and mornings, there is
nothing like German Syrup. The S3e
size has just been introduced this year.
Regular stee 75 emits. At all <liT.ggi.-ts.

Tim New York Journal of Com¬
merce (Ind.) says “It is evident
that tariff revision must be ac¬
complished , by gradual steps,
and if the question is to cuter in
to the coming campaign with ef¬
fect it must be in that form.
Many Republicans recognize the
crying need of that kind of tariff
reform.. There are monstrosi¬
ties to be got rid of and they can
be safely attacked without try¬
ing to overthrow the whole sys
tern at once- Meantime every
effort should be made to enlight¬
en the public mind on the prin¬
ciples, and the ultimate aim need
not be concealed.
A cure for Headache.
Any man, woman or child suffering
from headache, billiousness or a dull,
drowsy feeling should take one or two
of DeWitt's Little Early Risers night and
morning. These famous little pills are
famous because they art- a tonic as well
as a pill. While they cleanse the sys¬
tem they strengthen and rebuild it by
their tonic effect upon the liver and
bowels. F< Id by Lewis Drug Co.
