Several cars to select from. CORBETT & CO. BUY TIMBER. Moultrie Firm Buys 18,000 Acres of Timber Lands and Large Mill-••The Deal Repre¬ sents $140,000 From the Moultrie Observer. Messrs. R. J. Corbett & Co., have just closed a deal with Mr. C. A. Alford, of Willingham, by which the former oomes into pos¬ session of 18,000 acres of fino timber lands and the large saw mill operated by Mr. Alford at Willingham. The deal represents the sum of Sl40,000. The mill will be moved to Car¬ lisle, at the junction of the Geor¬ gia Northern railroad and the new raihoad that is being con¬ structed by Mr. Alford, which will run from Camilla to Ashburn. The capacity of this mill is 35, 000 feet daily, and it will require nine years at this rate to cut the timber just {urchased. Mr. J. Y. Bridges, who is su¬ perintendent of Corbett’s mill at this place, will have charge of the new mill, Mr. Corbett says that it is the purpose of the com¬ pany to get (he new mill moved and ready tot opeiation by Octo¬ ber 1st. They will build a dry kill and planing mill also, and expect to have all realy to oper¬ ate on full time by Oetoter 1st. Messrs. Corbett & Co., have enough timber for their large mill here for several years, and Mr. Corbett will remain hero in charge of the Moultrie business. Three Generations of Johns. The editor of the Enterprise well remembers what fun the Georgia editors used to have when Judge J. L. Underwood, was the editor of The Camilla Clarion. He had a house full of girls and those girls were talk¬ ed of in every paper in Georgia. It seems that the tide has turned. The old “reformed editor” now rejoices that in his small family of thirty-five, he has twenty one sons; counting sons, grand¬ sons and sons-in-law. The boys have been gathering home at Pearland this week. Mr. Edwin Underwood, now at the Georgia Toch, is the only one of the boys not answering the roll call. * Mr. John L, Jr., of Blakely, and his baby son. Brimberrj gave the young people of Camilla a recep¬ tion at her eleg nt home on last Wednesday evening in honor of the graduating class of 1904, and the visiting ladies in Camilla. Mrs. Brim berry was assisted in receiving by Mrs. ClaraTwitty and Miss Mamie Turner. The home was beautifully dec¬ orated with palms, ferns and cut flowers. The p’easures of the evening were augmented with several numbers by Camilla’s male quartette, and at the right tic-'.e delight f ul refreshments were served. Holton—Brazier. On last Sunday morning at the home of the bride near Humber, Ga., Mr. Howard, of this county, and Miss Tamie Brazier wore uni¬ ted in marriage. They came down on the southbound train Sunday evening and left for their future home about four miles north of this city. The bride is a beautiful and at¬ tractive young lady, while the groom is on 3 of Mitchell County’s prosperous young farmers. We wish them a happy and prosperous wedd)d life.
