Coal Oil For Hog Cholera.
Two or three farmers of this
county have been trying a new
remedy for hog cholera, and all
report the very best results.
Some weeks ago one of our best
farmers found his hogs dying off
with cholera. A gentleman liv¬
ing in another part of tho county
told him of his experience with
coal oil in doctoring the disease.
The farmer went home, some of
his hogs were doubled up like
jack-knives, and he commenced
on the sick porkers by prying
open their mouths and pouring a
small cup full of coal oil down
each. He also began feeding
cl al oi! to each of his other hogs.
ResuU, the hogs that were sick
all got well and are as healthy
and hearty today as if nothing
had happened to them, and those
hegs that load not been sick and
were fed the oil in their feed,
never showed any signs of sick¬
ness. The oi! was administered
to the sick porkers three times
per day, not in as large quanti¬
ties as the first dose, and at the
end of three days they were eat¬
ing heartily. It is said that if
coal oil is put into the feed of
hogs occasionally that they will
not take cholera under any cir¬
cumstance. One thing ’’s certain
the remedy is not expensive and
is worth trying. In the case in
stanoed there was no doubt of the
disease being cholera.—The

The way for a town to build up
is for all business men to pull
together. They should regard
themselves as partners rather
than riva'ts. As a rule tho more
business the other fellow does the
more you will get. A good busi¬
ness thoroughly advertised not
only benefits! he one man, but it
draws more people to the town,
and every business man who
treats his customers fairly and
courteously and has a good stock
of goods and it well advertised,
will get a fair share. The more
all pull together to draw business
to town the more each one will
