Yesteiday morning a motion to admit Arch Tendall to bail was argued before Judge Robert G Mitehell, and the bail wa3 fixed at $800. Tendall is the young man who is accused of the mur¬ der of Mr , L. R. Snipes near Meigs a few weeks ago. He was held for Superior court by Justi¬ ces W. H. Bibb and J. W. II. Mitchell at his commitment trial, Since that time the coroner's ju¬ ry brought in a vardietthat Mrs. Snipe’, death wa3 caused by par¬ ties unknown. The state was represented by Solicitor W. In PraisJ of Chamber! in’s Colic, Cholera ard Tiarrhoea Eeoedy. “Allow me to give you a few words in praise of Chamberlain's Colie, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy,” says Mr. John Hamlet!, of Eagle Pass, Texas. “I suf¬ fered one week with bowel trouble and took all kinds of medicine without get¬ ting any relief, when my friend, Mr. C Johnson, a merchant here, advised me to take this remedy. After taking one dose I felt greatly relieved and when I had taken the third dose was entirely cured. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for putting this great remedy in the 1 lands of mankind.” For sale by Lewis Drug Co. Georgia Leads in Feaches. Georgia, it is stated, now oc¬ cupies first place among the peach producing states of cot ntry, having broken the re¬ cords formerly held for years by Maryland and Dela¬ ware, by the shipment of carloads cf the fruit in five this season. Twenty-seven hundred car¬ loads of peaches were shipped from North Georgia during the period from July 8 to Aug 10, the crop from the district being val¬ ued at over $2,000,000. Many thousands of young peach trees will be planted this year as a result of the remaraa b!y successful crop this season. “DO IT TO-DAY,” The time-worn injunction, “Never put off ’til tomorrow what you can do today," is now generally presented in this form: “Do if to-day!” That is the terse ad¬ vice we want to give you about that hacking cough or demoralizing cold with which yon have been struggling for sev¬ eral days, perhaps weeks. Take some reliable remedy for it to-day —and let that remedy be Dr. Bosehee’s German Byrup, which has been in use for over thirty-five years. A few doses of it will undoubtedly relieve your cough or cold, and its continued use for a few days will cure you completely. No matter how deep-seated your cough, even if dread consumption hus attacked your lungs, German Syrup will surely effect a cure-— as it has done before in thousands of ap¬ New parently hopeless bottles, cases regular of lung trouble. trial i>5e; size, 75c. The of¬ ficials of the navy department held that the amount was exces¬ sive and so the matter was finally referred to an auditor to report. The court of claims has finally passed on the matter and fixed it at $1,657,855. This is consider* ab'y in excess of what the gov¬ ernment was willing to allow, but all exceptions to the reports have been over-ruled and the men will get their money. Prize money after all is a relic of piracy. Why should the navy get the prize money and the army noth¬ ing? When the army captures a town or acquires a tract of coun¬ try the value goes to the nation. The soldiers are supposed to work for glory, patriotism and stand ready to be killed at $18 a month.—Valdosta Times. Sour Stomach.
