Sale City, one of Mitchell’s new
ar.d most enterprising towns is
located on the F. R. & N. E. Rail¬
road, tifteen miles northeast of
Pelham in one of the finest farm¬
ing sections of Southwest Geor»
gia.
Sale City, (although she is but
seven months old) is proud to
boast of eight well equipped
stores and a dispensary, all of
which are doing a nourishing
business, and it is rumored that
two or three handsome brick
buildings will be erected in the
neat future. She is also proud
of a nice and conveniently ar¬
ranged depot which has recently
been completed. Prospectors
are coming almost daily, and the
carpenters hammer is heard con¬
tinually ringing on several new
residences. The Sale City Gin
Co., has ginned over nine hun¬
dred bales of c itton already and
will doubtless reach the 1,000
mark before the season closes;
and the fine quality of meal from
its grist mill cannot be surpassed
anywhere.
Sale City is especially proud to
boast of her free school, which is
conducted under the energetic
principalship of Prof. J. H. R all.

Mr. A. T. Jones will have his
new steam cane mill in operation
in a few days and we’ll have some
new syrup. Come over to see us.
The many friends of Mr, Jesse
Highnote are glad to see him up

iness trip to Macon a few days
ago.
Mr. S. W. Goss, of Preston,
was in town on business Satur¬
day.
Mrs. Bacon, of Dramsville, is
visiting her daughter, Mrs. H. H.
Jones, this week.
The singing at the school house
Sunday afternoon was attended
by a large crowd and all seemed
to enjoy themselves very much.
We are all glad to have such
pleasant weather again after the
long needed and refreshing show¬
ers of last week.

be in a most prosperous and
flourishing condition.

Tifton had a §100,000 fire last
week, with insurance for about
§55,000. This is her first real
big fire, and the property des¬
troyed was some of the best the

Notice of Election.

Mitchell Court of Ordinary at Cham¬
ber*’. Nor, 8th, 1904.
It is ordered that an election be held
in the new militia district in said coun¬
ty, known as Raiford district No. 1611,
G. M., for one justice of the peace and
two constables. Said electien to be held
on the third day of December 1904, in
the usual way of holding such elections.
There will also be an election held on
the same day at all the precincts in said
county for the above named officer. This
