The Laws Delay.
■<From The Bainbridge Democrat.)
It is quite evident that some
change must be made in the laws
of Georgia and other states to
bring about a speedier rendering
•of justice in criminal cases, if the
•crime lynch law is to be averted.
It is also evident that a great deal
of the delay in the courts can be
laid at the door of the lawyer,
•who is willing to take advantage
of every technicality in order to
lengthen out his case.
Judge Emory Speer of this
state, very properly says on this
subject:
"‘A skillful or careful attorney,
though guilt is plain, though sen¬
tence has been pronounced,
though the Supreme Appellate
court may have affirmed it—may
by repeated motions on the same
point, which has already been
decided, renew his motions and
renew his appeals, and thrash
over the old straws although the
highest court in the land again
and again may have decided
agaist him, until a horrified peo¬
ple stand aghast that laws, made
for the administration of justice,
are utilized for its shameless ob¬
struction.”
Always Keeps Chamberlain’s
Cough Remedy In His House.
“We would not be without Chamber¬
lain's Cough Remedy. It is kept on hand
continually' in our home,” says W. W.
Kearner, editor of the Independent,
Lowry City, Mo. That is just what
every family should do. When kept at
liaud ready for instant use, a cold may
be checked at the outset and cured in
much less time than after it has become
settled in the system. This remedy is
also without a peer for croup in chil
■dreu, and will prevent the attack when
given as soon as the child becomes
hoarse, or even after the croupy cough
-appears, which can only be done when
tlie remedy is kept at hand. For sale

The Enterprise S1.U0 a Year-
Letter To C. F. Brimberry,
CAMILLA, GEORGIA.
Dear Sir : If yon should bake bread
that people like better than any other,
and at less cost by the day, you’d have
a pretty-good business, wouldn’t you?
We have just such a business as that
in paint; a gallon goes further than any
other gallon of paint in the country—
that’s bread at less cost by the day; but
the difference isn’t so small as it is in
bread. And a job wears longer—that’s
bread at less cost by the year. People
hate to paint; it costs money to paint;
and they hate the fuss. They like our
bread by the year.
If your bread is better than auybody
else’s, and costs less too, you’ve got a
good trade; for people do like good
bread; and people like money. Itdoesn’t
take long to find-out; give ’em time.
But you can’t bake better-than-anv
body-else’s bread for half the usual price
for a breakfast, can you?
Devoe is just such paint as that. The
price by the gallon or loaf is no matter.
Count by the day, week, month, year,
lifetime. Devoe is the bread. We
hope yours is as good.
Yours truly

Cairo’s City Hall.
Work on Cairo’s new city hall
is progressing rapidly these fine
working days. Capt, Dunn, the
contractor has a large force of
hands at the work and each man
has his shoulder to the wheel—
even the Captain himself—there¬
fore it wont be long before our
town council will be ‘‘at home”
in as handsome quarters as any
town in Southwest Georgia.—
Cairo Messenger,

tory, “but thanks to Chamberlain’s

to business. It is the best of liniments.”
