That Lame Back Means
Kidney Disease
And to Relieve the Lame and Aching Back,
You Must First Relieve the
There is no question about that
•t all—for the lame and aching
bach is caused by a diseased con¬
dition of the kidneys and bladder.
It is only common sense, any way
—that you must cure a condition
by removing the cause of the con¬
dition. And lame and aching back
are not by any means the only
symptoms of derangement of the
kidneys and bladder. There are a
multitude of well-known and un¬
mistakable indications of a more or
less dangerous condition. Some of
these are, for instance: Extreme
and unnatural lassitude and weari¬
ness, nervous irritability, heart ir¬
regularity, “nerves on edge,” sleep¬
lessness and inability to secure
rest, scalding sensation and sedi¬
ment in the urine, inflammation of
the bladder and passages, etc.
DeWitt’s Kidney and Bladder

ous remedy for any and all affec¬
tions or diseased conditions of
these organs. These Pills operate
directly and promptly—and their
beneficial results are at once felt.

tually heal and restore the kid¬
neys, bladder and liver, to perfect

For
Sprains
Sloan's Liniment is the best
remedy for sprains and bruises.
It quiets the pain at once, and
can be applied to the tenderest
part without hurting because it
doesn’t need to be rubbed—all
you have to do is to lay it on
lightly. It is a powerful prepa¬
ration and penetrates instantly—
relieves any inflammation and con¬
gestion, and reduces the swelling.
Here’s the Proof.
Mr. L. Roland, Bishop of Scran¬
ton, Pa. says:—“On the 7 th of
this present month, as I was leaving
the building at noon for lunch, I
slipped and fell, spraining my and wrist.
1 returned in the afternoon, at
four o’clock I could not hold a pen¬
cil in my hand. I returned home
later and purchased a bottle of
Liniment
and used it five or six times before
I went to bed, and the next day I
was able to go to work and use my
hand as usual.”
liniment
is an excellent anti¬
septic and germ
killer—heals cuts,
burns, wounds and
contusions, and will
draw the poison
from sting of poi¬
sonous insects.

Quite Informal.
When Mark Twain lived in Buffalo
he made the acquaintance of some
neighbors under peculiar circum¬
stances. Emerging from his house one
morning, he saw something which
made him run aeross the street aud re¬
mark to the people who were gathered
on the veranda: “My name Is Clem¬
ens. My wife and 1 have been intend¬
ing to call on you and make your ac¬
quaintance. We owe you an apology
for not doing It before now. I beg
your pardon for intruding on you in
this Informal manner and at this time
of day, but your house is on fire!”

Kills Her Foe of 20 Years.
“The most merciless enemy I
had for 20 years,” declares Mrs.
James Duncan, of Haynesville,
Me., “was Dyspepsia. I suffered
intensely after eating or drinking
and could scarcely sleep. After
many remedies had failed aud sev¬
eral doctors gave me up. I tried
Electric Bitters, which cured me
completely. Now I can eat any
thing. I am 79 years old and am
overjoyed to get my health and
strength back again.” For Indi¬

The Jarndyce Case.
The Jarndyce case in “Bleak House”
was based on fact. It was actually
the famous Dyce-Sotnbre case. A
French adventurer In the eighteenth
century married a begum of Oude and
acquired enormous wealth. I think it
was he who bnilt the Marttmere at
Agra, so famous in the Indian mutiny,
and miles of other beautiful buildings
of mud and chunam. How his affairs
after death got into chancery l don’t
know, but the fact remains that every
scrap of his wealth dissolved in the
litigation. While it lasted members of
the contesting families were cared for.
