Rules Adopted For
City Primary Election
Camilla, Ga. Oct. 6,1925.
At a meeting of the Democratic
Executive Committee of the City of
Camilla, this day held,'a majority of
said committee being present, it was
ordered that a white Democratic pri¬
mary be held on the 10th day of No¬
vember, 1925, for the purpose of nom¬
inating a Mayor, three Aldermen, and
a Treasurer of said City-of Camilla,,
and three Trustees for Camilla Pub¬
lic Schools, and for the election of a
Democratic Executive Committee for
said city and such other municipal of¬
ficers as are by the laws of said city
required to be elected at said time.
Upon motion the following rules
ami regulations were adopted govern¬
ing said election;
First. In said election none but
white Democratic voters, who are oth¬
erwise qualified under the laws and
ordinances of said city to vote in such
elections, shall be allowed to vote in
said election.
Second. That the name of no per¬
son shall lie voted for in said election
except the names of persons appear¬
ing upon the official ballot of this Exe¬
cutive , Committee.
Third. ' That the name of no person
shall be printed on said official ballot
unless such name shall have been reg¬
istered with the Secretary and Treas¬
urer of this Committee, and the foes
paid as herein required for the office
for which such name is submitted, on
or befoye (5 o’clock P. M., October 24,
1925. i
Fourth. The following fees shall
be paid upon the registering of such
names as candidates with said Secre¬
tary and Treasurer for the offices
herein mentioned, to-wit:
Candidate for Mayor________$12.50
, Candidates for Aldermen.. 2.00
Candidates for Treasurer... 5.00

Fifth. That said election be held
in the City Hall, at Camilla. That
the time for opening and closing the
polls shall be governed by the law
governing the election of a Represen¬
tative for the General Assembiy -of
Georgia from Mitchell county, except
that the managers of said election
may, in their discretion close one hour
for dinner.
Sixth. The result of said election
shall be certified by said managers
to the Democratic Executive Commit¬
tee by 12 o’clock noon, November 11th,
1925, and the nominees declared by
said Committee.
Seventh. That the following mana¬
gers have been selected by this Com¬
mittee to hold said election; J. L.
Stevens, Justice of the Peace for the
1173rd District of Mitchell County, R.
M. Fleming and Ben T. Burson.
Eighth, That the attention of vot¬
ers is hereby called to the fact that
the registration books are pow open,
but will close ten days before election
herein ordered.
Ninth. That the Secretary and
Treasurer of this Committee shall be
required to make up a ballot after last
day for registering candidates and
provide tickets for s^id election.
Tenth. No ballot shall be counted
in said election for Aldermen of said
city unless such .ballot contains the
names of three candidates for Aider
man voted for by the voter; and no
ballot shall be counted'for Trustee for
Camilla .Public Schools unless such
ballot contains the names of throe
Candidates for Trustee voted for by
the voter. ,
Eleventh. Candidates for Aider
men of said city shall register from
the city at large and from wards in
said city where vacancies occur which,
under the law, are to be filled at the
next ensuing election.
Twelfth. Registrars of said city
are hereby notified and requested to
prepare and file with the City Clerk
of said City of Camilla, after the reg¬
istration books are closed and before
the date of the primary election a
certified list of the qualified voters in
and for said election. >

Mr. J. R. Bramlett Has
Returned To Camilla
Mi". J. R. Bramlett, who resigned
his, position as undertaker with the
Planters Hardware Co. several weeks
ago to accept a traveling position in
Florida, has given up his new work
and has returned to his old position
with the local concern. Mr. Bramlett
and his wife have many friends in Ca¬
milla who will be glad to learn of this
change in their plans which brings
them back to Camilla.
BACHELOR GIRLS CLUB.
The Bachelor Girls Club was enter¬
tained in a charming manner on Fri¬
day afternoon at tin* home of Miss
Martha Acree. A pleasing' feature
was the pretty and tasteful deeora
tions of cut flowers used in the
thrown open to the guests. Bridge
was the chosen diversion of the after¬
noon. After the games a tempting
salad course was served. A new mem¬
ber, Miss Sara Hilliard, was initiated
into the club circle The next meeting
of the club will be with Miss Lois Ben¬
nett.

Young Couple Married !
* In Quincy, Fla. Sunday
Much pleasurable interest was
created by announcement of the mar¬
riage of a popular couple of Camilla
young people on Sunday afternoon,
wKert Miss Ethel Phillips and Mr. Ed¬
ward Norris were united in the bonds
of wedlock.
Accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. E. H.
Ward, Miss Phillips and Mr. Norris
motored to Quincy, Fla., the. Gretna
Green of Georgia’s young marrying
couples. They secured license and
found the home of Rev. H. J. Patter¬
son, pastor of the Methodist church,
where the wedding ceremony took
place at 5 o’clock. The bride was be¬
comingly attired in a costume of pen¬
cil blue satin crepe with hat and ac¬
cessories to match.
News of the wedding had reached
the ears of the residents of the little
city and when the bride and groom
came out of the pastor’s home they
were greeted by a large number of
smiling faces and showered generous¬
ly with rice.
Mr. and Mrs. Norris returned to Ca¬
milla Sunday night and are now at
home to their friends at the residence
of Mrs. W. B. Ward.
The bride is a beautiful and attrac
tiee young lady and is loved and ad¬
mired by numbers of warm friends
here, where she has spent several
years with her sister, Mrs. Groover
Jones, while attending Camilla High
School, having graduated last year.
She is a daughter of Mis. W. A. Phil¬
ips, of Colquitt. Mr. Norris is a son
of Mrs. Lewellyn Norris, of Beaufort,
S. C. He has grown up in Camilla.
Edward is a likable young man and
holds the affection of all who know
him. He has a good position with the
Ward Garage, Both bride and groom
are wealthy with a hearitage of warm
friends, who are extending to them
every good wish for the future.
BRANCHVILLE MISSIONARY
SOCIETY.
The Branchville\ Womans Mission¬
ary Society held its regular monthly
meeting at the home of Mrs. C. F,
Williford on Saturday, October 3rd.
The following program was carried

JUNIORS TO MEET.
The Junior Missionary Society of
the Methodist church will meet this
(Friday) afternoon at 4 o’clock at the
McKee Hall, when annual promotion
exercises will be held and a short so¬
cial session. Every Junior will bring
a towel for the shower for Vasthi
Home at Thomasville. A full attend¬
ance of the membership is requested.
MRS. BUTLER HOSTESS.
Mrs. Jim B. Butler was a much en¬
joyed hostess Friday afternoon, when
she entertained the members of the
Diamond Bridge Club. After a hour
spent pleasantly over the card tables,
a delicious salad course and iced tea
