Mrs. J. E. Brooks went down to
Ochiocknee Wednesday and carried
her mother, Mrs. I. Smith to Thomas¬
ville to the hospital, where she was to
undergo an operation yesterday.
Mrs. Smith’s many friends here hope
she may have a rapid recovery of
health and strength.
Philathea Class
To Meet Friday
The Philathea Class of the Baptist
Sunday School will meet this (Fri¬
day) afternoon at the home of Mrs.
Geo. C. Cochran on Broad street for
the regular bi-monthly business and
social meeting The meeting this af¬
ternoon will be of more than ordinary
interest. It is to be a celebration of
the fifth birthday of the class and an
enjoyable program will be carried out
in honor of the event.
Hostesses for the afternoon will be
Mrs. W. R. ^panan, Mrs. T. B. Per¬
ry, Miss Mollie Collins, Mrs. Rastus
Matthews, Mrs. Geo. C. Cochran and
Mrs. W. F. Cullens.
MAJORS-BOLTON.
A marriage centering the interest
of a large number of friends was that
of Miss Laverne Majors and Mr. Hor¬
ton Bolton on Sunday afternoon. The
ceremony took place at 3 o’clock at
the home of Mr. Perry, at HartsHeld,
in the presence of a few friends of
the young couple, Rev. I. R. Kelly,
pastor of the Sale City Methodist
church speaking the impressive words
uniting the two young lives.
After the ceremony, iWr. and Mrs.
Bolton left by automobile for Ocala,
Fla., where Mr. Bolton has a position
as depot agent at a small station just
out of Ocala. Mrs. Bolton is a sweet
and attractive young lady and very
popular in the social life of her com¬
munity. She is a daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. L. P. Majors, of Pebble City.
Mr. Bolton was brought up in Pebble
City community also and is a son of
Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Bolton. He is a
likable and energetic young man and
has a promising future. Both young
people carry with them to their new
