12-YEAR-OLD LAD A
SUICIDE.
Young John Hilton Took
Father’s Money.--Re¬
morse Too Great.
Atlanta, October 19—Remorse
over having taken $25 of his fath¬
er’s money to satisfy a longing
sur a bicycle, led John Arthur
Hilton, a 12 year-old boy to com¬
mit suicide today.
The lad lived with his parents,
28C Waldeo street He left home
Sunday afternoon and went to
that of a neighbor, where he
spent the evening. He left the
lo'me of Policeman Stephen Fel¬
der at 9 p. m. He was seen to
more until found early today su -
fering terrible agony from the ef¬
fects of a big dose of carbolic
acid.
The discovery was made by
John W. Henley, assistant United
States district attorney. As Mr
Henley was going to work he
heard the cries of two boys, and
on investigation found them car¬
rying a third, who was in the
clutches of convulsions.
Young Hilton was carried in‘o
the home of Alderman Frank
Pittman, in front of which the
acid had been drunk, but died
twenty minutes later without
speaking. A half-emptied bottle
told his story.
The parents were prostrated by
the news of their hoy’s death, and
cannot account for the same ex¬
cept on the theory that such was
brought about by remorse over
having taken $25 the elder Hilton
had left lying around carelessly.

Brilliant Cut Glass, i
The kind that glitters and sparkles
like crystal—that is the kind we sell.
Remember, there are several grades
of Out Glass. In the best grade the
glass is pure, clear and white; so that
when tne light falls upon the polished
surface, it scintillates almost like the
diamond. In the inferior grades the
glass is inclined to he cloudy aud dead
reflects light poorly.
We carry the driest, display of Cut
Glass in the city, consisting of the
three or four best brands.
