hospital authorities had just
wired Mewman’s wife to come for
him, as they could keep him no
louger.

Ah, There!--the Turk.
“The turkey bird
Is getting fat,
And here, where we
Are living at,
We still have chickens
Frying size.
We still have stuff
For punkiu pies,
And we have quarts
Of buttermilk.
And morning dawns
As smooth as silk,
With flapjacks hot
And syrup sweet,
And everything
That’s go©d to eat.
Proclaim thanksgiving,
Or do not.
We’ve got such an
Abundaut lot
Of things we’re thankful
For, we vow
We’re startin’ bein’
Thankful now.’’
