DIXIE.
Oh Dixie’s land is the land of glory,
The land of cherished song and story,
Look away, look away, look away,
Dixie Land.
’Tis the land that patriots love to dwell
in,
The land our fathers fought and fell in,
Look away, look away, look away,
Dixie Land.
(CHORUS)
I’m glad I am Dixie, Hurrah! Hurrah!
In Dixie land I’ll take my stand,
And I’ll die defending Dixie,
Away, away, away down
South in Dixie.
Oh Dixie land is the land of flowers,
Of sunny skies and shady bowers,
Look away, look away, look away
Dixie Land.
Where the mosses grey to the oaks are
clinging,
And the mocking bird is sweetly
singing,
Look away, look away, look away
Dixie Land.
The Southern boys went forth to battle,
And loud they made war’s thunder rattle,
Look away, look away, look away
Dixie Land.
Our cause was lost but won a glory,
But still will last when time is hoary,
Look away, look away, look away
Dixie Land,
IIII
Old Dixie is the land of freedom,
Of soldiers brave and gallant seamen,
Look away, look away, look away
Dixie Land.
The land where rules the Anglo Saxon,
The land of Davis, Lee and Jackson,
Look away, look away, look away
Dixie Land.

The New School Commis¬
sion Law.
When M. L. Brittain, present
Fulton county school commission¬
er, steps into the office of state
school commissioner, July 1st,
made vacant by the resignation of
the Hon. Jere M. Pound, a com¬
plicated situation will arise in
Fulton county with regard to
choosing Mr. Brittain’s successor,
a situation of interest throughout
the entire state because it will
show the workings of the new law,
passed by the legislature of 1909,
by which county school commis¬
sioners throughout Georgia are
henceforth to be chosen by a
lar vote, instead of elected
county boards of education as in
the past.
The term of Mr. Brittain who
was elected by the county board,
does not expire until May, 1912,
but nevertheless if Mr. Brittain
had not resigned, he would have
had to stand for re-election this
August under the new law. If lie
were re-elected his new term would
begin in May, 1912. The same
situation, in that regard, applies
to every county in the state where
the terms of office of incumbent
school commissioners expire before
the general election of 1912. Their
successors must be elected this
August by popular vote at the
general election.
All candidates for these offices
must stand examination before the
county boards ninety days prior to
the election, that is in June this
year.
County school commissioners are
now elected by popular vote for a
term of four years, their election to
be at the next general election be
fore the expiration of the term of
office.

The Conservation of Na¬

Applies as well to our physical
state as to material things. C. J.
Budlong, Washington, R. I. realized
his condition, and took warning be¬
fore it was to late. He says: I suffer¬
ed severely from kidney trouble, the
disease being hereditary in our fami¬
ly. I have taken foul bottles of
Foley’s Kidney Remedy, and now
consider myself thoroughly cured.
This should be a warning to all not to
neglect taking Foley’s Kidney Rem¬

A Woman’s Great Idea.

But, without health, it is hard for
