We are sorry to chronicle the deatli of
Tommy Sarcliett, little son; six pr) dL’vbn
years of age, of Mr. T. P. 8n relief t , of
this place. He died last Saturday of the
bronchia] affection which is raging so
fearfully throughout a large portion of the
State at this time.
We learned a few days'ago that Dr. J.
L. Griffin, who married Miss Ellington in
this county some twenty years ago, died,
last October while waiting on yellow fever
patjents in Greenville, Miss, Ho had
married again and lind three children, one
of whom died also of yellow fever.
We are glad fo learn that our friend aud
patron, Wash Baker, Esq., of Cochran,
wilo got burned out in the lute fire at that
place, was fortunate enough to save most
of liis'stoek from the devouring ejquient;
and, that in case you are dry, you can still
get your thirst qnenehed at his popular
