There are still some people who
don’t know where the Dublin post
office is. For the benefit of such we
repeat it is at present in Col. Wylly’s
old office next door above Mr. Tar
ploy’s drug store.
Several gentlemen met in Mr. J

killed two hundred and eight all on

We learn with regret the condi

We congratulate the medical fra
ternity of Dublin on the acquisition
made to the brotherhood by the re
moval of Dr. Bedgood, formerly of
Wrightsville, to this place. Ho oc

Hip-Pocket Delirium.
The little darkey whom we reported
last weok tis accidentally shot by his
brother, Walter Griffn, and who at
that time was expected to die, is get
ting bettor. It is now thought he
will get well. But tho sight of a
gutuor pistol affects him as the sight
of water docs ono with hydrophobia.
A friend writing us from Marys
ville in the lower portion of Johnson
county, says the farmers in that sec
tion are making an average crop,
that political questions are not
troubling the oven tenor of the good
citizens of that community, and that
Miss Anna Walker, of Wrightsville
has a flourishing neighborhood
school near Marysville and is giving
general satisfaction.
Parties contemplating building
should see Mr. E. N. Fountain be
fore contracting with other builders.
The manner in which he has con
ducted the work oil Dr. Hightower’s
building shows that, he is the cheap
est as well as the most skilful car
penter that ever built a house in
Dubliu. The work ho lias done
peaks for itself and would not com
pare unfavorably with tho best work
in Macon or Atlanta;—then his tact
in managing hands and pushing for
ward is such that tho job has been
done at a marvellously small cost.
Mr. ‘ F. will be in town ono more
week. After that time parties wish
ing to employ him may leave their
plans and specifications with Dr.-
High tower.
Rather Salty.
The Cochran Enterprise put in its
appearance last week fairly sparkling
with improvements under tho hands
of its now managers, but was rather
salty in its - criticism of the Dublin
merchants. Blow Cochran, young
gentlemen, as much as you please.—
She deserves all the good that can
be said of her. Hor merchants are
enterprising and possess advantages
over ours, and tho Post stands ready
to aid you in sounding their praises
and goods through tho land (when
paid for it)—Cochran deserves and
will command tho trade of Western
Laurens, but then don’t go for all
the Dublin merchants quite so
heavy. *
