198 Peachtree Street. - ATLANTA, GEORGIA What They Say of Us. TOM WATSON. (Monticello, Fla., Times.) Tom Watson is a “big” man. He writes large the cardinal principles of true Democracy. Unthinking persons denounce his irregularity, and declare that he should have reformed the Dem ocratic party “inside the party.” Outside applications, like mustard plasters, are sometimes necessary. Tom Watson is a red hot, sizzling political mustard plaster. He has by warm external applications checked many intestinal democratic disorders. His idea of reform “inside the party” seems to be that it would be just as easy as reforming a man inside a rot ten apple. Since Democracy has been stung and blistered by Populism into a partial return to genuine Democratic principles, let us hope Tom will come back to us. OUR PARAGRAPHS. (The Dublin Times.) Sam Small’s paragraphs in the Weekly Jeffersonian show that he has not forgotten the art by any means. A HOT, BUT DRY TIME. (Center, Tex., Advocate.) Hon. Thos. E. Watson, the famous Georgian,- smashed a nigger porter over the head on a Pullman car near Augusta this week, using his suit case as a weapon. There was nothing broken and spilled from inside the grip; the reason, probably, is that Watson is said to be a prohibitionist. THEY HATE TO SEE IT. (The Farmers’ Union News.) Mr. Watson’s fight during the days of the Alliance, and since, has given so much trouble to certain elements that they are greatly troubled to see him lining up with the Farmers’ Union. WATSON DID THINGS. (The Cordele Rambler.) Everybody in the South ought to take one of the Watson publications. Tom Watson is the greatest man of the century in many respects, and the editorials of these publications are all from his vigorous pen. Tom Watson spent only two years in Congress, but he started the Rural Free Delivery of mall, thus doing more for the farmer than any Geor gian has done for them since Ben Hill saved us from the scalawags and carpet-baggers. It is very popular in some quarters to cuss Tom Watson, but it makes a man of sense smile to hear a little 2x4 politician underrate this great Georgian. ABOUT SAM SMALL. (The Bainbridge Searchlight.) Sam Small is now managing edi tor of the Watson publications. Sam Small is one of the very brightest newspaper men of our acquaintance. William Jennings Bryan was thrown from a carriage Wednesday at Burling ton, Vt., but was unhurt. WATSON’S WEEKLY JEFFERSONIAN. Dr. W. M.
