She was born on October 19, 1921, in Banks County, the daughter of the late Noah Lee and Sarah Wade Brock. She was a homemaker and was Presbyterian. Mrs. Trotter was preceded in death by her husband, John Clarence Trotter, Jr. Survivors include sons, Terry Trotter and Oneal Trotter, both of Homer; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Monteen Wilson Monteen Skelton Wilson, 91, of Lula, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Habersham County Medical Center, following an extended ill ness. Born in White County on January 6, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Loy and Eva Carpenter Skelton. She was a homemaker who enjoyed making handmade pottery, was a member of Enon Baptist Church, and attended Shiloh Baptist Church of Gainesville. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, H.A. Wilson; daughter, Jane Stewart; son, Jackie Wilson; and brothers, Ronald, Ray, and L.A. Skelton. Survivors include a daughter, Doris Hill, Cornelia; sons and daughter-in-law, Wayne Wilson, Ricky Wilson, Jimmy and Martha Ann Wilson, all of Lula; daughter- in-law, Elaine Wilson, Lula; broth er, Crawford Skelton, Cleveland; sisters, Willie Mae Humphries, Ruth Lancaster and Jean Pardue, all of Cleveland, and Janet Green, Gainesville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Everage Brady Everage Brady, 60, of Baldwin, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, at the V.A. Medical Center. Born on April 19, 1947, in Banks County, he was the son of Boyce Brady of Baldwin and the late Mary Sue Bennett Brady. He was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church and was retired as a self-employed carpenter. Mr. Brady was a veteran, having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Survivors in addition to his father, include his wife, Hazel Cook Brady, Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Krista Brady and Ben Heimberger, Baldwin; sons and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Janice Brady, Baldwin, and Leon Brady; a sister, Edna Palmer, Toccoa; brothers, Kenneth Brady, Gillsville, Marvin Brady, Toccoa, Edward Brady, Baldwin; and three grandchildren. Born on August 6, 1939, in Loudon County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Robert Haskell and Iva Mary Allen Shell. She was a home maker and a member of Madison Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Stephenson was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Langford; and her second husband, James Y. Stephenson. She was born in Murrayville, the daughter of the late Floyd and Flossie Curtis, and was a lifetime member of Murrayville Congregational Holiness Church. She was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing. Mrs. Reidling was preceded in death by her husband, W.D. Reidling; and a son, Danny Reidling. Jack Foster Jack Foster, 69, of Cornelia, died Thursday, December 27, 2007, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extend ed illness. He was born in Rabun County on May 6, 1938, the son of the late Ira Frank and Blonnie Forrester Foster. He retired from Lee Arrendale State Prison as a vocational instruc tor, and was employed with United Community Bank as a courier. He was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, a board of trustees mem ber, and Sunday school director for a number of years. Mr. Foster was preceded in death by a sister, Velma Webb; brothers, Robert, Ray, Paul and Andy Foster. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, according to loved ones. Edna Tate Edna Tate, 86, of Gainesville, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, at her residence, following an extended illness. A native of Lumpkin County, she had lived in Hall County for over 51 years, and was the daughter of the late Cicero and Madge Mincey Lingerfelt. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lumpkin County. Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Dillon; brothers, Ben, Hubert, Ronald, Gene, and MC Lingerfelt. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Clinton Tate, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, David and Shirley Tate, Gainesville; brothers, Ralph Lingerfelt and J.B. Edward Patman Minister Edward “Shortening” Patman, 40, of Arcade, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007. He was the son of Pastors Clyde and Carol Patman. Survivors in addition to his par ents, include his wife, Dianne Patman; daughter, Jessica Patman; two brothers; three sisters; and nieces, nephews and other rela tives. She was born in Habersham County on June 17, 1918, the daugh ter of the late Oscar Lee “Doc” and Clara Wallace Wiggins. She was a member of the Methodist Congregational Federated Church and was retired as an elementary school teacher with the Habersham County Board of Education after 40 years of service. She was a member of the Habersham Retired Teachers Association, Local Chapter of the AARP, Woman’s Missionary Union, Eastern Star, Mountaineer Shrinettes, Ladies Auxiliary of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and Georgia Mountains Association. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Chapman; and second husband, Raymond Hicks. Survivors include a daugh ter, Janice Bennett, Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Max and Beverly Chapman, Terrell, Texas; grand children, Kathy Bennett, Terri Jones, Ray Chapman and Steven Chapman; great-grandchildren, Beth Howard, B.J. Hall and Dustin Jones; great-great-granddaughter, Emma Howard. Farrell, Clarkesville Artist, 63, died Saturday, December 29, 2007, following a five year battle with colon cancer. She was born in Harrison, N.Y., and raised in Miami Springs, Fla. She was the daughter of Ruth Farrell and the late James M. Farrell. She moved to California in 1969, where she received formal training in art history, and the creation and marketing of fine art. She worked in a number of galleries in Carmel and San Diego, before moving with her husband to Habersham County in 1997. She worked in a variety of art media, including watercolor, oil pas tel, printmaking, photography and collage. She said of her work, that it was “the expression of the philo sophical and spiritual influences in her life.” Her works have been exhibited and sold in galleries in San Diego, Phoenix, Sedona, Santa Fe, Durango, and Aspen, as well as in local galleries in the Center at Sautee and the Heritage Center for the Arts in Tallulah Falls. She loved to share her work with others and volunteered at the Heritage Center for a number of years. “She was the sweetest, most joyfully playful woman I’ve ever known,” said her husband, who smiled as he remembered her; say ing, “She made loving friends of everyone she met, and knew the power of their love in the enrich ment of her life and theirs.” Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, James Hinkley; sisters, Sherry Thomas and Wendy Farrell; and a brother, Steven Farrell.
