Among the calls, 1,377 were booked in the Banks County Jail and 1,120 cases were opened for investiga tion. There were also 640 traffic accidents investigated by the BCSO and 1,674 traffic citations issues. The BCSO also served 1,458 civil papers during 2007. In addition, 468 subpoenas were served. The BCSO also reported 28 mental transports during the past year. Mother son argue at Springdell Road residence T he Banks County Sheriff’s Office reported 16 arrests during the past week including the following: •Terry Carlton Angel, 30, 358 Riverbend Road, Commerce, fail ure to appear for trial. •Brandon Talmidge Bellew, 45, 907 Duncan Road, Commerce, weaving, DUI (drugs) and failure to appear for trial. •Roger Anthony Boswell, 21, 237 Mitchell Street, Maysville, DUI (alcohol), driving too fast for con ditions and weaving. •Douglas Ray Brammer, 45, 1001 Shackleford Road, Royston, driving with a suspended license, tag light violation, driving without a tag, DUI (alcohol) and open container violation. •Kela Michelle Daniels, 48, 340 Rice Street, Alto, probation viola tion. •Alonzo Oscar Garcia, 35, 247 Magnolia Drive, Jefferson, driv ing without proper classification of license. •Rutilio Gomez, 24, 4230 Mable Street, Hattiesburg, Miss., driving without a license and windshield violation. •Luis Herrera, 23, 2805 Wade Hampton Boulevard, Taylor, S.C., driving without a license and win dow tint violation. •Jamie William Holcombe, 27, 292 Wildwood Trail, Lula, DUI (drugs). •Shawna Lynn Lance, 18, 592 Henderson Road, Gillsville, pos session of controlled substance and loitering. •Kevin Boyd Madaris, 43, 294 Old Harris Orchard Road, Commerce, driving with a suspended license and failure to obey posted traffic signs. •Jon Ross McIntire, 23, 456 Main Street, Clermont, driving with a suspended license, driving without a tag, no proof of insurance and headlight violation. •Charles Edward Miller, 52, 168 Doc Lawrence Drive, Alto, illegal possession of controlled substance. •Kenneth Kyle Moore, 23, 4338 Trotters Lane, Auburn, giving false name to an officer. •Ryan William Orlovsky, 19, 447 Elkwood Drive, Moon Twp, PA, DUI (alcohol) and excessive speed ing. •David Michael Waldrep, 30, 311 Borders Drive, Homer, DUI (alco hol) and excessive speeding. The Banks County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic dispute call on Springdell Road Jan. 17 involv ing an argument between a mother and her son. According to the BCSO report, the mother said she and her son were arguing when he said he was “going to call the cops and tell them that she had went next door and got a gun to kill him with.” The mother said this was not true and wanted to make an official report about her son’s threat. The BCSO also responded to the following domestic disputes: •dispute at a Cauthen Lakeside Drive, Alto, residence. •phone harassment at a Hwy. 98 residence. •harassment at a Boling Road address. •harassment at a Hwy. 15 address. •dispute at a Lewallen Road, Commerce, residence. •battery at a Cauthen Lakeside Drive, Alto, residence. •welfare check at a Historic Homer Highway residence. •phone harassment at a Hwy. 51 North, Homer, address. •harassment against a Wynn Caudell Road resident. •welfare check at a Mt. Sinai Road residence. •custody exchange at Race Trac. •dispute at a Historic Homer Highway residence. •dispute at a Dusty Creek Lane residence. •dispute at a West Ridgeway Road residence. Baldwin Arrests Student reportedly injured while exiting school bus Seven face charges from Baldwin Police Dept. Seven people were arrested in Baldwin last week, including the following: •Tony D. Nicely, 38, 45 Liberty Lane, Cleveland, DUI, suspended license, speeding, open container violation and fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer. •Dexter Thomas, 56, 662 Smokey Road, Alto, DUI. •Osman Lara Perez, 23, 222 Dilmus Street, Baldwin, no license and stop sign violation. •Whitley Gayla Galloway, 18, 160 Willow Tree Avenue, Baldwin, dis- orderly conduct. •Tracy Smith, 46, 212 Stonecypher Street, Cornelia, DUI and failure to maintain lane. •Beverly Faith Maravilla, 38, 322 Teakwood Drive, Alto, DUI, fail ure to maintain lane and headlight violation. •Jose Aguilar-Martinez, 31, 109 McConnell Drive, Gainesville, driv ing on a suspended license and fail ure to show proof of insurance. INCIDENTS Incidents reported to the police department last week include the following: •reports of sexual abuse against a child. •tires slashed on a vehicle parked at a Willingham Avenue address. •cell phone damaged by a man during an argument with his girl friend at a Church Street residence. •bank fraud against a Baldwin woman. A Banks County Middle School student was injured while she was exiting the school bus on Jan. 14. The 13-year-old was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center after complaining of neck and back injuries, according to the Banks County Sheriff’s Office incident report, which was filed by the bus driver. The BCSO also responded to the following incidents during the past week: •livestock in roadway on Damascus Road near Hwy. 184. •suspicious vehicle on Historic Homer Highway. •deer in roadway on McCoy Bridge Road. •alarm at Dress Barn on Tanger Drive. •911 hang-up from pay phone at Wal-Mart. •alarm at Wendy’s. •burglary at a Cotton Road, Homer, residence. •911 hang-up at a Hwy. 59, Commerce, residence which proved to be children playing on the phone. •dog bite at a Hwy. 98 residence involving a juvenile. •alarm at a Hwy. 51 South residence. •livestock in roadway on Brown Bridge Road. •trailer inspection on Grove Level Road, Maysville. •gas drive off a Hwy. 441 station. •suspicious vehicle at TA Truckstop.
