Terry Rice, of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church, Gainesville, will be the guest speaker. The Rev. Rice was the long-time pastor of Level Grove Baptist Church, Cornelia. Services will begin on Sunday at 7 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Special music will be pro vided by The Presleys on Sunday. The Level Grove choir will sing on Monday; Montgomery Memorial choir will perform on Tuesday; and The Browns will sing Wednesday. The church is located just off the Commerce by-pass and Hwy. 98 at 3754 Blacks Creek Church Road. The Rev. Bill Carpenter is pastor. Rev. Terry Rice Lighthouse plans revival March 16-19 Lighthouse Congregational Holiness Church will hold revival services next week, March 16-19. Sister Julia Rautenburg will be preaching and singing during each service. Sunday services are at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and services Monday - Wednesday will begin at 7:30. Musical to be presented at Homer UMC Sunday A Palm Sunday musical, “In Christ Alone,” with drama and a din ner is announced by Homer United Methodist Church for Sunday, March 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the church’s fellowship area, Don Stewart Hall. The program is under the direc tion of Dianne Cochran. The church is located east of Veterans Memorial Park in down town Homer. “The public is cordially invit ed to attend,” said the Rev. Jim McLendon, pastor. The program marks the beginning of a Holy week filled with ser vices and events, including: a Holy Thursday Communion service, 7 p.m.; Good Friday service, 7 p.m.; Easter Sunday sunrise service at Banks County Memorial Gardens, 7 a.m.; Easter breakfast, 8 a.m.; early Easter worship service, 9 a.m.; and Easter worship service, 11 a.m. Easter egg hunt set Sunday at Nails Creek Nails Creek Baptist Church will hold a fellowship meal on Sunday, March 16, after the morning ser vices. After the meal, the children will have an Easter egg hunt. All chil dren through the sixth grade are invited to participate. A sunrise service will be held on Easter Sunday, March 23, at 7 a.m. Breakfast will follow. The morning worship service will be held at 11 a.m. All are invited to attend. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Games will start at 10 a.m. Entry fees are $30 per team, for those registered prior to the date of the tournament or $40 on the day of the games. The tournament is single elimi nation. Championship T-shirts will be awarded to the winning team. Concessions will be sold. Bush River to ordain Browner Sunday Bush River Baptist Church will hold an ordination service for the Rev. Anthony Browner, associate minister, Sunday, March 16, at 2:30 p.m. The speaker will be the Rev. Roy L. Tarpkins, Jefferson. The youth will be selling hot dogs and drinks from 1:45 to 2:15 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. The Rev. Julius Mack is pastor. The church is located on Grove Level Road in Maysville. Commerce churches announce services The congregations of six Commerce churches have announced a series of Holy Week events to take place Monday, March 17, through Sunday, March 23. The public is invited to all of the services. Lenten Lunches will be held at the following places, from noon to 1:00 each day. Monday, March 17: Commerce Presbyterian Church, featur ing Rev. Jim Burkett, pastor of Madison Street Baptist Church as the speaker. Tuesday, March 18: First United Methodist Church of Commerce, with Rev. Derry Oliver, pastor of Mount Olive Baptist Church as the speaker. Wednesday, March 19: First Baptist Church of Commerce, with Father John Burke of St. Catherine Laboure as the speaker. Commerce Presbyterian Church will host a Maundy Thursday ser vice Thursday, March 20, at 7:00 p.m. The First Baptist Church of Commerce will host a Good Friday service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 21, and the First United Methodist Church will hold a sunrise service on Easter Sunday, March 23, at 7:00 a.m. Breakfast will follow in the fellowship hall. Each of the churches will have their own services on Sunday morning as well. Easter egg hunt set at Maysville UMC Maysville United Methodist Church will host “Easter Egg Bonanza” Saturday, March 15, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the new church building, located across from Maysville Elementary School on Hwy. 98. Children are invited to find over 7,500 eggs in the egg hunt that begins at 11 a.m. A giant slide, first and goal, rock climbing wall, castle and T-ball game will also be avail able. Silver Shoals to hold revival services Silver Shoals Baptist Church will hold its 2008 spring revival services Sunday, March 23, though Friday, March 28. The service will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, and at 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Special singing will be provided each night. Chris York will be the guest speaker.
