PAGE 6 B THE BANKS COUNTY NEWS WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2008 School News FUN WITH GOAT, CHICKENS Tracy Root's and Kelly Barton's third grade classes at Lula Elementary School celebrated National Agricultural Day on March 20, by visiting with a baby goat and some baby chickens. The students enjoyed the special event. Noah Dyer, a student, raised the goat and the chickens himself. STATE GEOGRAPHIC BEE Charlie Kiefer has qualified to represent Banks County Middle School and participate at the state level of the National Geographic Bee sponsored by Plum Creek. The state Bee will be held Friday, April 4, at Baldwin High School in Milledgeville. Kiefer is one of the top 100 who qualified after taking a writ ten test. Kiefer is the first school winner to qualify for the state Bee. At the state Bee, he will go through a preliminary round and eight official rounds, each with a different theme and level of difficulty. The top 10 students will move to the final round. The winner at the state will travel to Washington D.C. on May 20 and 22. LIMBO CONTEST AT MES Audrey Mixon, daughter of Maysville Elementary School media specialist, Sara Mixon, looks unsure of her ability to make it under the limbo stick that kindergartener Cassie Greg Morgan just cleared.
