WEDNESDAY, APRIL 2, 2008 THE BANKS COUNTY NEWS PAGE 3B Opening Day Ceremonies TEAMS ON DISPLAY Softball and baseball teams gathered at the local ballfield for opening day ceremonies following Saturday's parade. While the ceremonies were cut short because of rain, recreation department officials are looking forward to the new season with 34 teams competing. Photos by Chris Bridges PARADE FESTIVITIES The Royals were one of the teams taking part in Saturday's opening day parade through Homer. THE PARADE ROUTE Baseball and softball teams in the Banks County Parks and Recreation Department took part in the opening day parade Saturday. PIRATES ON PARDE The recreation Pirates rode down Historic Homer Highway before making their way to the ball fields during Saturday's opening day events hosted by the Banks County Parks and Recreation Department. BRAVES ON PARADE The 9-10 year-old Banks County Braves team is shown on their opening day parade float on Saturday.
