Porter worked 2.2 innings in relief and kept Union County in check not allowing any runs. “We were able to put the finish ing touches on what turned out to be a good day for us,” Lord said. “We had a good game at the plate once again. Alex capped off a great day at the plate with a mammoth homerun. Bill Redmon also had hist first homer of the season. Tyler Hulsey was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate while Zack Dale added a double with three RBI. Chase Armour, Brett Armour and Angel each scored runs. The doubleheader sweep was key after a 11-6 setback to Fannin County April 9. In a back-and-forth contest, BCHS suffered some defen sive lapses would proved costly. Gibbs was 2-for-3 at the plate with a run while Jeff Smith was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Kyle Smith, Dale and Gailey each doubled as BCHS gen- erated some offense but Lord noted his team did not produce at the plate consistently throughout the contest. The Leopards were scheduled to play at Rabun County Tuesday and will host East Jackson Thursday at 5:30 p.m. Physicals offered for middle school student-athletes Student-athletes at Banks County Middle School will have the oppor tunity to have a physical April 16 and April 17. The Banks County Health Department has arranged with sev- eral local doctors to offer the physi cals for $20. That cost will then be returned to the booster club which helps with the purchase of uniforms, certificates, supplies and rewards. BCMS athletes need to set up an appointment with coach John Bertrang. All athletes are required to have a current physical and cannot compete without one. Those who cannot afford the $20 fee should also contact Coach Bertrang. Get your record catch recognized by state DNR Each year, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) recognizes anglers for out standing and state-record catches. Submit a clear photograph of the fish for proper identification and length verification (the photo should at least show the entire length of the fish and the ruler or tape used to measure the fish). In addition, a photo of the angler with the fish is also required. Complete an application and submit with photos. State record applications must be received within 90 days of the catch. Information regarding angler awards and state record fish can be found on the WRD website at www.gofishgeorgia.com or in the Georgia Sport Fishing Regulations Guidebook available at all WRD offices.
