Multiple vehicle theft investigated An investigation by the Banks County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing into the theft of seven vehicles and one lawn mower from a building at a Granite Road address. Sheriff Charles Chapman said his office received a report last month that seven old vehicles and a mower had been taken from a storage shed located near the residence. The vehicles were not operable and Chapman said he believes they were taken for scrap metal. The vehicles and mower were taken during the middle of the night. The sheriff said whoever took them had to drive past the residence to get to the shed. The storage building was not broken into, Chapman said. “We are continuing to investigate this incident,” the sheriff said. Anyone with information concerning this theft is asked to contact the BCSO at 706-677-2248. Suspicious substance found on mirror at residence A Water Plant Road, Commerce, resident contacted the Banks County Sheriff’s Office last week concerning a substance he found on a mirror.
