A tragic car accident almost cost
Paul Granzow both legs.
The Wound Center helped save them.
In October or 1991, while living in Michigan, Paul Granzow was in a horrible head-on collision causing injuries
so severe that he actually died on one occasion during recovery irom surgery. Since that t mne. Paul and his
wife, GlDna, have seen more than 65 doctors and have battled numerous complications including severe
wounds that would not heal, making amputation a serious consideration. Fortunately, they found the
Comprehensive Wound Center tCWC} at Athens Regional radical Center.
The solution was a comprehensive pran of advanced wound care technology and Hyperbaric Oxygen
Therapy iHBOTi. hboT is a medical treatment m which the patient is placed in a chamber and breathes
100% oxygen at increased atmospheric pressures.
We have been to so many other places and no one was able to do what they did here, says Gloria. "The
Wound Center reaily was a blessing for us because Paul was experiencing such intense pain."
